Vince McMahon picks the next Superstar to get a massive push
Earlier this week, reports suggested that Vince McMahon was not happy with Cedric Alexander's push and was planning to end it. The rumors emerged after the former 205 Live star was crushed by AJ Styles in the Clash of Champions kickoff show.
Now, Wrestling Observer Newsletter are reporting that Vince is keen on pushing a star, who has just gotten back to the scene. Chad Gable has reportedly impressed the chairman and is in line to get a huge push as per the newsletter. The report:
“Even though Gable is doing this gimmick that screams undercard babyface, we’re told Vince [McMahon] really likes and appreciates him and considers this a push.”
Massive changes to RAW and SmackDown planned
Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown are set for a facelift according to WrestleVotes. This comes very close to the blue brand's move to FOX Network.
They report that the shows will have new sets after this week and they will not be identical. Reports of such a change have been going on for a while, but nothing was done so far.
SmackDown Live's next episode will be on the 24th of September – the final show before it moves to the FOX Network. The show will also be dropping 'Live' from the name, while also getting a new logo.
The updated logo is set for a nostalgic look but with a modern twist. Fans have been impressed with it so far and reports suggest that FOX will be using cinematic camera angles as well on the show.
Kane gives his honest opinion about The Fiend
Kane was attacked by The Fiend on Monday Night RAW this week, and it was not something the fans saw coming. Nobody expected him to appear as The Devil's Favourite Demon in the first place.
Talking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Kane heaped praises on Bray Wyatt and said:
“That was a great night. Also, to be involved with the Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt ‘Fiend’ storyline, what an honour to be able to do that, so it was a great night. Even I get creeped out by Bray Wyatt right now! That’s a tremendous character, and I’m really happy when any of the guys are able to be successful.
“Bray is very creative and everything that he’s done as Bray Wyatt and now the ‘Fiend’ character, it’s all been great. He’s just a wonderful performer.”
The Fiend is now set to take on Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Title at Hell in a Cell.
Bully Ray wants Brock Lesnar to beat Kofi Kingston
Brock Lesnar is set to take on Kofi Kingston on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX for the WWE Championship. While the WWE Universe wants Kofi to retain the title, Bully Ray believes Lesnar should win it.
Talking on the Busted Open Radio, he said:
“Brock’s name is known by people who might not be wrestling fans. Brock should bring a lot of eyes to this show on Friday. He’s the biggest name, and that’s why they’re going with him. And Brock as your champion is what’s best for business right now, with your show going to FOX.”
Maury Povich on Monday Night RAW?
Maria Kanellis stunned the WWE Universe this week by revealing that Mike Kaneills isn't the father of her child. Ricochet was first introduced as the father in the storyline during the gender reveal party, but then she revealed that it was actually Rusev.
Now, Maury Povich has tweeted about it and is reportedly in line to appear on Monday Night RAW. WWE are likely to use him in the storyline very soon, and it might be on the show next week!
Matt Riddle on Goldberg' heated confrontation with Dolph Ziggler
It is a well-known fact that Matt Riddle is not a big fan of Goldberg. The NXT Superstar does not feel that the Hall of Famer has done enough in the ring and has been vocal about it for a long time.
This week, a video emerged of Goldberg and Dolph Ziggler having a heated confrontation in Las Vegas and Riddle has tweeted about the same. He said:
“Why didn’t you try this with me. I would have had an even better story for watch along”
A few weeks ago, Riddle spoke to Sportskeeda's very own, Gary Cassidy on Dropkick DiSKussions and said:
"With Goldberg, I was never even really wanting a match. I mean, I would take it for sure. He's Bill Goldberg, you know? The guy is money. At the same time, I never wanted a match. It was more so my opinion on his workrate and his wrestling - not his ability to generate money or put butts in seats."
Kane feared for his job with WWE
Back in the days of the Monday Night Wars, WCW and WWE were always fighting for the top spot. The pressure on the Superstars was so much that Kane has revealed he feared for his job during that time! Talking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, he said:
“We all look back on the Monday Night Wars and romanticise – gosh, what a good time for wrestling and all that – but if you were in either company, but especially WWE, it was the most stressful time of my life because it really was a war and if we lost, we were probably going to lose our jobs.
“So, we weren’t sitting there romanticising about how great everything was. We were going, ‘How can we put on the best show that we possibly can? Because if we don’t, we could wake up out of a job any day now.’”
