WWE Rumor Roundup: Surprise new rivalry for Roman Reigns, backstage update on CM Punk's return and more – 24th October 2019

In today's roundup, we take a look a the RAW Superstar who got arrested this week, Liv Morgan's new look, and Jim Ross hitting back at Seth Rollins!

In case you missed the biggest news of the day, Finn Balor turned heel on NXT last night. The former WWE Universal champion attacked Johnny Gargano and helped the Undisputed Era beat-up Tommaso Ciampa.

Surprise new rivalry for Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan seemed set to happen last month but that surprisingly changed. The Big Dog instead teamed up with The Planet's Champion to face Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Now Cagesideseats report that Reigns is set to be involved in a feud with King Corbin for the next couple of months. Their report reads:

As you’d expect from what we’ve seen on-screen and future house show bookings, it looks like Roman Reigns and King Corbin will be working a program together for the next couple months.

CM Punk's WWE return is a call away?

CM Punk revealed this week that he was open to returning to pro-wrestling and spoke about the 'contract offer' made by AEW again. Now, Sportskeeda's very own Tom Colohue has a very exciting update on a possible return to WWE for Punk.

Colohue's source informed him that Vince sees the potential to make money with the former WWE Champion's return to the company. He also added that Vince is open to the idea of working with Punk again and just needs to make a phone call to get things done.

However, all three men involved (Vince McMahon, Triple H and CM Punk) are proud men and one of them has to get the ball rolling. One source said: “Vince and Hunter, they’re proud men. Punk is a proud man. Somebody’s got to get over that and go first and it’s not going to be Vince.”

Jim Ross hits back at Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins took a shot at Kenny Omega recently and stated that he would love to fight the All Elite Wrestling star at WrestleMania one day. He stated that when Omega is done playing in the minor leagues (AEW), he can come and work for the top wrestling company (WWE).

Jim Ross was not happy with the comment and has now hit back at the WWE Universal champion. He believes that Rollins' dig at Omega doesn't do favors to anyone in the business. JR said on Grilling JR podcast:

“Rollins is in a great spot. He’s blessed. Maybe some day he’ll be as over as his girlfriend, I don’t know. Nonetheless, I’ve always liked his work. He’s a solid guy, he’s a solid guy. But saying things like that make him look bad and for that I feel badly.”

He went to claim that the comments embarrassed him and questioned if Rollins is doing it to gain favors from his bosses at WWE. JR added:

"I don’t know what the answer is. But for a top talent that’s been blessed with great health right now and making a ton of money, and dating the hottest woman in the business, arguably by many… Man, what have you got to b**** about? Are you kidding me?”

Liv Morgan's new look revealed

Liv Morgan is on a short break from WWE and will be returning with a drastic change in her character. She has revealed that she will be real when she makes her return to the ring.

For months now, she has been teasing her character change on social media and today, we got a glimpse at what could be the look of her new character. Stephanie McMahon posted a few photos of the company's first-ever Women’s Affinity Group and Liv was a part of them.

At first glance, it is clear that she no longer has the pink hair that defined her character in WWE. She has gone back to the blonde look that she used to have in the early days of WWE NXT.

There is no update from Liv or WWE on her return but she was a part of the draft, with Monday Night RAW picking her up.

Rusev arrested after attacking Bobby Lashley

WWE revealed earlier today that the Cleveland Police Department arrested Rusev on Monday. He was taken into custody by the police after attacking Bobby Lashley at a fine-dining place. The former Intercontinental champion was at the restaurant with Rusev's wife, Lana.

Rusev was later released as charges were not pressed against him by Lashley and Lana. WWE's report read:

WWE.com has confirmed Rusev was taken into custody by the Cleveland Police Department on Monday and was released after no charges were pressed by Bobby Lashley and Lana.

Rusev was in the ring along with Jerry 'The King' Lawler on King's Court when he found out about his wife and Lashley enjoying dinner together. The former US Champion rushed to the location of the restaurant and attacked Lashley despite people being present in the vicinity.

The storyline is set to continue on Monday night RAW next week and WWE have confirmed that Rusev will be on the show.
