3 Superstars who are cutting non-scripted promos
WWE have been using scripted promos for some time now, but it looks like they are slowly easing things backstage. Lately, a few Superstars, like Daniel Bryan and Kevin Ownes, have been cutting unscripted promos and the numbers are increasing.
According to Wrestling Observer Online, WWE allowed 3 more Superstars to cut non-scripted promos this week. They were not unscripted but done based on bullet points as per Dave Meltzer. He said:
Bayley, Banks and Mysterio’s promos on Raw were all done without being scripted word-for-word, basically the old bullet points style and going for it. There is a movement to try and do more of that going forward, similar to the leeway that Owens (and I believe Bryan but that hasn’t been told to me directly) get on Smackdown and why his promos, if not both of theirs, come off better than almost anyone
Bray Wyatt's Hell In A Cell opponent revealed?
Bray Wyatt has challenged the winner of Braun Strowman vs Seth Rollins for a match at Hell In A Cell, and it looks like WWE are going ahead with that plan. A leaked advertisement for Hell In A Cell has revealed that The Fiend will be taking on the Architect for the WWE Universal title.
The HIAC pay-per-view takes place exactly one month from now on October 6th at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
Major twist in Ronda Rousey's return
A few weeks ago, Ronda Rousey was teasing a return to WWE. The former Women's champion posted a video on her YouTube channel showing that she missed the ring a lot.
There were speculations that she was going to make a shock return soon, but it looks like that is not the case. If WWE.com's Superstar section is to go by, Rousey is now a former WWE Superstar.
She has been listed as an Alumni by the WWE's official website, and only those who are no longer active are put in that list. Injured and stars who are on a break remain on the RAW, SmackDown Live, NXT or the 205 Live lists even if they are set to leave the company soon.
Rousey was last seen in the WWE ring at WrestleMania 35 when she was a part of the main event along with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
AJ Styles teasing a new addition to The O.C. soon
AJ Styles reunited with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in July this year and ever since, he has been one of the top heels on Monday Night RAW. The trio now knows as The O.C., took down Braun Strowman on RAW this week with the help of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler.
Anderson posted a photo of all 5 of them together on Twitter, and a fan enthusiastically asked them to become a team. The fan claimed that a group of 5 is way better than 3 and that WWE has bee going with this 3-man group for a long time now.
AJ Styles has now responded to the comment and said that 3 is good enough...for now. The hint has now got the WWE Universe buzzing as Finn Balor has been rumoured to be joining his old mates once he is back in the ring.
Why Charlotte is angry with Ric Flair
Ric Flair filed to trademark 'The Man' catchphrase recently a, d that is something Becky Lynch has been using for some time now. The 16-time WWE champion revealed last week that he had got it done, and now, it looks like his daughter, Charlotte Flair is not happy about it.
“When I first saw this go down in August of 2018, I thought, ‘Cool, ‘The Man’ – my gimmick – versus my daughter, Charlotte.’ Okay, that’s the day it started, right after SummerSlam. I thought, cool. So I said, ‘I’m going to make some money; it’s my trademark, and they have it to use.’ I’ve been saying it since 1981.”
“So I got my worded statement, I sent them a text and the lawyer, who just has no respect for me whatsoever which is something I’m not going to deal with much longer, he said, ‘You’re wrong. It’s not even close.’ I said, ‘It’s not even close?’ So, boom, I sent him another text, he didn’t respond. So I had my lawyer call him, and he blew off my lawyer. This is all in 2018 or in January of ’19.”
“It’s funny, my daughter (Charlotte) is so mad at me because I filed, not even understanding that it’s not with Becky. I have no beef with Becky,” he told TMZ Sports.
It remains to see if WWE continue using 'The Man' catchphrase and if they don't, how they ease it out of Becky's character.
Rey Mysterio's shocking next opponent on Monday Night RAW
Rey Mysterio is set to make his comeback into the WWE ring after a short break. The Master of 619 is set to take on Gran Metalik of Lucha House Party in a one-on-one match.
This comes just 3 weeks after Rey's son, Dominick stopped him from retiring and making him promise that he will not hang up his mask until they have a tag-team match together in the ring.
Now, with Rey taking on a member of the Lucha House Party, it could be a path to the tag-team match Dominick wanted. There is a very good possibility for the match to end in a DQ or turned into a tag-team match at the very end.
The Undertaker's return is not going to lead to a match
The Undertaker is scheduled to appear on SmackDown Live this coming Tuesday, and there were a lot of speculations that it would be related to his next match in the ring. However, Dave Meltzer has made it clear that the appearance will be just to cut a promo.
