Welcome to today's edition of the WWE Rumor Roundup, where we bring you the latest from the world of wrestling. With WrestleMania just a few weeks away, WWE have a lot of plans going on backstage, and we have some interesting rumors for you.

From Vince McMahon to Brock Lesnar, there are several involved in today's WWE Rumor Roundup. Will The Miz be heading to WrestleMania as the WWE Champion? Will Roman Reigns be dropping the title before he faces Edge? There are so many questions in the WWE Universe, and we have some backstage information on some of them.

Without further ado, here are the top WWE rumors of the day:

Backstage news on who will be entering WrestleMania 37 as WWE Champion

The Miz cashed in his Money In The Bank contract at Elimination Chamber earlier this month to become the new WWE Champion. He did get some help from The Hurt Business CEO, Bobby Lashley, but that might come back to haunt him.

As per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Miz is bound to soon drop the title to Bobby Lashley. The WON journalist reports that the change of title could happen on Monday Night RAW next week or at Fastlane next month. He said:

"Miz feels like a transitional champion, and they are doing everything possible to make you believe he's going to lose the title on the 3/1 RAW to Lashley. Lashley has been booked like a monster, and one would come out of the PPV feeling that the title match for WrestleMania would be Lashley vs. McIntyre."

Continuing to talk about why he feels The Miz would not enter WrestleMania 37 as the WWE Champion, Meltzer said:

"In another era, the idea of a guy like Miz who had won four matches since the start of 2020 headlining Mania wouldn't be the direction. But a weak guy not seen as a top guy by the audience put in a top Mania match isn't going to have the kind of misfire revenue decreases of when the revenue was based on appealing to consumer tastes at that moment."

Dave Meltzer expects Drew McIntyre to be involved in some way at WWE Fastlane and could be the challenger to Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 37 for the WWE title.

Vince McMahon set to protect WWE RAW Superstar

Vince McMahon is in no hurry to decide Damian Priest's fate, but the former WWE NXT Superstar will be protected at all until WrestleMania. The report comes from Dave Meltzer, who claims that the WWE Chairman is undecided on the former North American Champion, but he is in a good spot right now.

Another good sign for Damian Priest: on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that WWE officials "like him" and that "he's gonna be protected for sure until WrestleMania and probably after." Meltzer did add the usual caveat about Vince McMahon changing his mind and giving up on Priest, "but for right now, he's in a good spot and he's doing well." (Via CSS)

Damian Priest was in the Royal Rumble this year and has appeared on Monday Night RAW regularly. However, he is often used in backstage segments and was the WWE Superstar who helped rapper Bad Bunny win the WWE 24/7 title.

Rumors right now suggest that Priest will be on the WWE WrestleMania 37 card. The reports claim he will team up with Bad Bunny to take on The Miz and John Morrison in a tag-team match.

Brock Lesnar to return at WWE WrestleMania 37?

Brock Lesnar has been off WWE TV since WrestleMania 36, and there has been no news about him returning to the ring any time soon. Thanks to Corey Graves and Vic Joseph, the WWE universe is abuzz about the possible comeback right now.

On this week's After The Bell, the WWE commentators discussed who Bobby Lashley could face at WrestleMania 37 if he manages to beat The Miz for the WWE Championship. The first name that came up was none other than The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. Corey said:

"(Vic Joseph) I think there's an obvious answer that's out floating there, but I'm not going to give that obvious answer. (Corey Graves) I am, I am, Brock Lesnar (mimicks Paul Heyman)."

Vic Joseph agreed with the suggestion and added that it would be one 'human demolition derby' when the two clash.

Bobby Lashley has always stated that facing Brock Lesnar was the main reason he returned to WWE. The Hurt Business CEO is desperate to face The Beast Incarnate, and there is a slight chance of that happening if he manages to beat The Miz on Monday Night RAW for the WWE title.

Has WWE picked Asuka's WrestleMania 37 opponent?

Asuka won the WWE RAW Women's title after being given it by Becky Lynch after Money In The Bank, but has not defended it a lot. She has often been without an opponent at pay-per-views as WWE did not have a storyline for her.

Things might be changing with WrestleMania 37 coming up in a few weeks. A report from Cageside Seats suggests that Charlotte Flair could be the one to face Asuka at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

"It's believed the post-match angle between Charlotte Flair and Asuka from Monday's Raw is setting up a feud between the two for WrestleMania 37, but may not have come off as planned because of Asuka losing a tooth during their loss to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler."

The possible clash would be their second at WrestleMania, three years after Charlottle Flair defeat Asuka to end her unbeaten run in WWE. Will WWE have Charlotte end the championship reign of the Empress, or will revenge be served cold? Only time will tell.

Cesaro set for a big push in WWE?

Cesaro seems to be in the middle of a push on SmackDown, and rumors about it have already started. The Swiss Cyborg could be in line for a WWE Universal title opportunity as well, as per reports.

The speculation comes from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who claims that Cesaro might even defeat Roman Reigns and face Edge at WrestleMania 37. However, the journalist himself admits that this is highly unlikely to happen as Edge vs. Reigns is the only big clash confirmed for the Grandest Stage of Them All. He said:

"Reigns is facing Edge at Mania, which either means no title match for him until then, or they do something to pay off Reigns vs. Cesaro with the idea Cesaro could win and Edge would face him, although I don't expect people would take that so seriously."

WWE seem to be pushing Cesaro, but a title opportunity before WrestleMania could end the run soon. Roman Reigns dropping the title or even coming close to losing it would detail The Tribal Chief's dominance, and it would be best for all parties if WWE holds Cesaro's title challenge after WrestleMania.
