Welcome to another edition of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup where we try and bring you the biggest wwe news and rumors and other updates from the world of sports-entertainment.

WrestleMania is done and dusted, and the WWE shows are not yet in full flow as the lockdown continues amid the Coronavirus issue. But, a lot is happening in WWE still, and rumors are flying in from different sources.

In today's roundup, we take a look at what Ric Flair texted The Undertaker after his Boneyard match, which Hall of Famer was convinced by Vince McMahon not to retire and more.

Before we get to all that, let us have a look at the two big headline-makers of the day:

Drew McIntyre breaks WWE rule after WrestleMania match

Drew McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 36, but soon after, he looked straight at the camera while celebrating the big win. Talking about his mistake that broke the rule, he told ESPN:

"One of our rules in WWE is that you don't look down the camera and break the fourth wall, like you wouldn't do in a movie. But I couldn't help myself. In that moment, I just wanted to thank everybody for supporting me, for supporting WWE during this time and choosing WWE to take your mind off these difficult times. I wanted to let everyone know how I felt, and I'm so glad we kept that in the show. I wasn't sure if it would be edited, because I really meant it."

WWE straight away had McIntyre defend his title against the Big Show, and he managed to retain it successfully.

Former champion takes shot at John Cena

John Cena was involved in the Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania and it blew people's minds away. The match received a mixed reaction from the WWE Universe but Dolph Ziggler had a different issue with it.

The former WWE Champion took a shot at Cena's hairstyle and said that he could not spot one decent haircut of the leader of Cenation.

In 2007, Vince McMahon introduced Drew McIntyre as the future WWE Champion to the WWE Universe but that dream of his did not bear fruit until last night. The Scottish Psychopath finally won the title by beating Brock Lesnar and he spoke about it to Sports Illustrated.

In his interview, he also revealed the WWE Chairman's reaction and claimed that he was happy for McIntyre. The WWE Champion claims that it was Triple H who brought him back and it only happened because The Game and the WWE Chairman believed in him.

He said:

He was happy for me. He knows the journey I’ve been through and how hard I’ve worked, and nobody works harder than Vince McMahon, so his respect means the world to me. Triple H was there too, and he’s the reason I’m back in WWE. Both of them believed in me, and it was very special to hear them say they’re proud of how far I’ve come as a performer and a man.

Why John Cena never turned heel

John Cena has done almost everything in WWE, and one thing that the fans always wanted to see happen but never did was him turning heel. Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio has revealed that there was one point when it almost happened.

He claims that Vince McMahon and Cena were sold on the heel turn, but at the very last moment, the WWE Chairman pulled the plug as the leader of Cenation was the #1 merchandise seller for the company.

There was even a time, I think most people know this, that Vince had decreed that John was going to turn heel and it had all been agreed to. John had agreed to it. John got his heel gear made and then Vince goes, Vince started thinking about it and he goes, 'It's f****** stupid, he's our #1 merchandise seller. He's the face of our company doing all this make-a-wish stuff. And at the point, it was like, he's never going to turn heel and he never did and I think it would have been completely stupid for him to do it

How Vince McMahon convinced Mark Henry not to retire

Mark Henry has revealed that he seriously considered retiring from WWE at a point but Vince McMahon guilt-tripped him to not retire so soon. He was talking to Heavy in an interview and shed light on what happened back then that got him back in the ring.

"Man, you’re too young. You haven’t even starting giving back to the business yet.' And he implored – and he guilt-tripped the s**t out of me [laughs]…I didn’t want to leave the business worse than I found it, I wanted to leave the business to be better when I left. And I said you know what? I’m doing my thing but I can do more…I was like if we’re going to do it, let’s do it in a big way. And he was able to say man what are you thinking? It was only just me and him. Never told anybody."

Henry's fake retirement segment was one of the best ever in the history of the company. The fans were caught off guard when the World's Strongest Man turned heel and attacked John Cena.

The Boneyard match was easily one of the best matches in the history of WrestleMania, and the majority of the WWE Universe loved it. The match was unique, and The Undertaker rolled back years and performed like the Taker we all knew.

Ric Flair loved the match as well and has revealed on The Wrestling Inc Daily podcast that he texted the WWE legend about his match.

"I texted Taker, 'You did it again.' [Laughs] It's incredible. Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn, they create stuff better than Netflix, Amazon or anything. Are you kidding me? Between that and the Fun House, it was incredible. If I'm dying as an adult who's been watching this forever, can you imagine what a 12-year-old is thinking? They gotta be going, 'Wow! Daddy this is the coolest thing!'"

Flair also revealed that he texted Stephanie and praised the McMahons for putting on an incredible WrestleMania given all the limitations they had this year because of the Coronavirus. The Hall of Famer also praised his daughter's match and the Firefly Fun House match.
