In today's roundup, we have the answer to the big question on everyone's mind – What is a Boneyard match? Adding to that, we have backstage WWE news on Brodie Lee making fun of Vince McMahon, and which SmackDown Superstar working sick has upset two others.

Before we get to all that, let us take a look at the two headline-makers of the day:

Roman Reigns' replacement at WrestleMania 36

Roman Reigns has reportedly decided not to work at WrestleMania 36 due to the Coronavirus outbreak but it has not been officially confirmed by WWE yet. They have announced that there will be a segment involving him and Goldberg next Friday and that could be the time when he is replaced.

However, as per recent spoilers, Braun Strowman is replacing Reigns in the WWE Universal Title match at the show of shows. Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reports that the Monster Among Men has been called in to face Goldberg.

"Yes, WrestleMania was taped Wednesday and Thursday and Roman Reigns did not wrestle Bill Goldberg. I believe Braun Strowman wrestled Bill Goldberg. Roman Reigns made the call himself. It was interesting because he was there and made the call."

Is Braun the best possible replacement for Reigns?

WWE 'leaking' WrestleMania spoilers?

youtube-cover

WWE have been tapping all the WrestleMania matches as they won't be able to live stream it this year. The company is doing its best to keep the fans entertained but with the matches pre-tapped, it is very difficult for the results to remain a secret.

Thus, WWE have taken a different approach and have decided to leak out some spoilers that are completely untrue to make sure that people are surprised when the show is aired as per Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue.

They are taking some precautions. They are taking one major precaution. To my knowledge, it's not recording multiple finishes, although, of course, they can record multiple things and see what works well in the edit. They are essentially taking, what I think is the best precaution they can possibly take. They are intentionally leaking false spoilers.

Former tag-team champion unpaid for 6-7 weeks?

Scott Dawson

The Revival are on their way out of WWE and that has been clear for a long time now. They reportedly asked for their release last year and once again earlier this year but were not granted the same by the company.

Meltzer also said that Scott Dawson is still under contract to WWE for a couple of more weeks, but he has not been paid in six or seven weeks.

Now, reports are emerging that WWE have not paid Scott Dawson for the last 6-7 weeks as well. He is at the very end of his contract as per claims in several reliable reports whereas Dash Wilder reportedly has another 10 weeks to his contract. The latter's contract was extended after he missed 10 weeks earlier in his WWE career with a broken jaw.

The Revival are slowly getting ready for their departure from the company as well. They have been trademarking a few things on their own to use later on. All Elite Wrestling is reportedly set to be their next destination.

SmackDown star works sick; The Usos are upset about it

The Miz

WWE are still tapping shows and WrestleMania from the Performance Centre and they have been very careful about it. They have reportedly started checking every single person getting in and out of the place and are not allowing those above a certain temperature to get in.

However, reports suggest that The Miz was unwell and still worked on SmackDown last night. The one-half of the SmackDown tag-team champions is now set to take part in the Triple-threat Ladder match for the tag-titles as well at WrestleMania 36.

Dave Meltzer of WON reported that The Usos were not happy with The Miz working despite being sick and other reports suggest there could be a connection between that and Roman Reigns pulling out of the Universal Title match.

It had to do, in some form with Miz being sick and The Usos not being happy about it and I don't really know much else. That's really all I was told.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported earlier in the week that Reigns had made the decision of not working at WrestleMania.

Backstage news on Brodie Lee taking shots at Vince McMahon

All Elite Wrestling have been taking shots at WWE for a long time now and it has been something they have constantly relied on as well. From their first-ever show (PPV) to their latest AEW Dynamite, they have been doing it and the fans have had a mixed reaction to it.

In the last two episodes, AEW have taken shots at Vince McMahon and the reaction from backstage at WWE has, unsurprisingly, not been a good one. Brodie Lee, fka Luke Harper, has been the one taking shows at the WWE Chairman in the two shows and they have not been subtle.

Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio claims that WWE are very upset with the segments and the jibes at Vince. This comes just hours after Brodie Lee revealed that Vince had delayed his release from the company for business reasons. He said:

After the second conversation with Vince, he called me and said, 'Hey man, for business reasons, I can't let you go.', and I said, 'Okay, it's totally fair, it's your decision obviously.'

AJ Styles explains what a Boneyard match is!

AJ Styles and The Undertaker are set to clash in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36 and the WWE Universe still does not know what it is. The Phenomenal One has finally shed some light on it and revealed that it is going to be in a graveyard and not in the empty Performance Centre.

Styles, his Mixer channel, said:

“What the heck is a Boneyard match? Even I was wondering what a Boneyard match is. Under the circumstances, I think there’s a reason it’s called a Boneyard match. We didn’t want to say cemetery, graveyard. Let’s tread delicately on this. Everything that’s going on, it sucks. What is the match? It’s a combination of things you thought it was, most likely. It’s going to be different. I don’t want to give anything away. I want you guys to enjoy this.

The match, like others, will be tapped this week or early next week and will not be a live-streamed one because of the Coronavirus outbreak in the USA.
