We welcome you back to another stacked edition of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup. It's been quite an eventful day in pro wrestling, and the biggest story has been about Andrade's request to be released from WWE.

We have all the latest updates on the former US Champion's WWE status. Jason Jordan is also back in the news, but not for all the right reasons. The former NXT superstar has been accused of cheating on his wife.

A former WWE Champion also set the record straight about the rumors of Taz being a dangerous worker. Details of a canceled match for Drew McIntyre have also been covered in today's lineup of stories. A recently-signed AEW star revealed that WWE officials outrightly told him that he would never main event a pay-per-view.

On that note, here is Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE Rumor Roundup:

#5. Andrade's WWE status update, company rejects release request

WrestlingInc was the first to report that Andrade had asked for his WWE release at the RAW tapings on March 8th. Dave Meltzer verified the report, and in a twist to the story, it was revealed that WWE denied Andrade's request.

Andrade asked for his WWE release earlier this week, but was denied. Wrestling Inc. was first to report that he asked for his release at the Raw tapings this past Monday with Dave Meltzer confirming both the request and denial.

PWInsider reported that Andrade looked 'absolutely miserable' backstage at the recent RAW tapings. Fightful added in a Select report that people backstage expected the former WWE United States Champion to find a way out of the company.

Andrade was reportedly not involved in any backstage confrontations. It was also noted that Paul Heyman's removal from the Executive Director's position on RAW negatively affected the Hispanic superstar's standing in the company.

Vince McMahon is not too high on Andrade, and the former NXT Champion seems to be ready to explore options outside WWE.

Former WWE Superstar Karl Anderson, who is currently signed with IMPACT Wrestling, dropped a big teaser on Twitter regarding Andrade's future.

Andrade also put out an interesting response:

Andrade's request has been turned down, and there is a possibility that he leaves after his contract expires. However, could WWE convince the superstar to stay? More details should be on their way soon enough.

#4. Former WWE Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan accused of cheating by his wife

In news that has undoubtedly caught the WWE Universe and the entire wrestling world off guard, Jason Jordan's wife, April Everhart, took to Instagram and accused him of cheating on her with multiple women.

Everhart wrote:

"If you or one of your friends slept with my husband, please keep it to yourself! I can't handle it anymore! *He's all yours*"

The accusations have naturally attracted a lot of attention, but Jason Jordan is yet to comment on the situation. Jordan, real name Nathan Everhart, got married to April Elizabeth in March 2017, and the couple has a daughter together named Ava Rose.

This is still a developing story, and we should get more clarity in the days to follow. Jason Jordan has not wrestled a match since Royal Rumble 2018, and he has since taken up a producer's role backstage in the company.

Jason Jordan has not been able to wrestle due to a neck injury; however, Chad Gable had revealed in January that his former WWE tag team partner was working hard towards getting cleared. Gable didn't rule out the possibility of a reunion in WWE.

While getting back to the ring is a priority for Jason Jadon, he presently faces many allegations, and all we can do is wait for more details to emerge.

#3. WWE told Paul Wight that he would never main event a pay-per-view again

Former WWE Superstar Paul Wight, aka The Big Show, became one of AEW's latest acquisitions recently. The veteran superstar appeared on the Oral Sessions podcast with Renee Paquette to talk about his WWE career and decision to leave the company.

During the interview, Paul Wight revealed that WWE officials told him around five years ago that he would never again main event WrestleMania or any pay-per-view in the company.

The veteran was told that he would just be used to put over NXT talent.

"I got the speech five years ago, which was a pretty bad speech. I got called into a Talent Relations office and got told that I will never main event a WrestleMania again, I will never main event a pay-per-view again, and I'll only be used to get over NXT talent. That was said to my face. There's your fun*ing inspiration; now go work hurt."

Wight added that while it wasn't Vince McMahon who directly shut down his main event aspirations, he understood that every big decision came from the top. Wight admitted that he was hurt after being informed bluntly about WWE's decision not to push him in a main event spot.

Wight joked that despite being in the best shape of his career, he found it tough to get top opportunities in WWE. Paul Wight said that he became a world champion in WWE when he was an out-of-shape chain smoker heavily reliant on alcohol.

"Vince didn't say that to me; it wasn't him. But nothing gets said to you without... you know, you know where it comes from. So it hurt a little bit; I was like, 'Really? That's where we're at". Because they had to think about the future. And then I got into shape and had the abs. I made the joke to Vince, 'When I used to chain smoke two packs of cigarettes a day and drank Jack Daniel's like water and weighed 500 pounds, I was a fuc*ing world champion. I got abs, and I can't get a fuc*ing match (laughs)."

Paul Wight is now in AEW, and he is motivated to embark on another fruitful run at the age of 49. Wight will take up several different roles in AEW; however, he will also be wrestling for the company.

#2. Tyson Fury reveals WWE plans that got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Tyson Fury caught up with Behind The Gloves for an interview, and the Heavyweight Boxer opened up on the WWE plans that were unfortunately nixed over the past year.

WWE had a massive plan to have Tyson Fury and Drew McIntyre in a singles match at a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom. Fury stated that he was also scheduled to appear at WrestleMania 36, SummerSlam 2020, and the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

"I was supposed to go to SummerSlam last year, and I was supposed to go to WrestleMania last year, and I was also supposed to fight Drew McIntyre in a pay-per-view event in the UK. But none of that happened, thanks to COVID."

In addition to wrestling, Tyson Fury noted that he had many other visits that were impacted by the pandemic.

"So COVID's cost me SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, pay-per-view with Drew McIntyre, the [Deontay] Wilder rematch, and the [Anthony] Joshua fight, so thank you, COVID. And I was supposed to meet the President of the United States, Donald Trump. I was supposed to meet the Pope of Rome, among other things, so it's cost me a lot. It's one of the things." H/t Danny Hart of SK Wrestling

Tyson Fury made his in-ring WWE debut at the Crown Jewel show in 2019. The British pugilist beat Braun Strowman via count-out in his first pro wrestling match. The giants were also involved in a SmackDown segment with The B-Team in Manchester in November 2019.

Tyson Fury is expected to fight at least twice in 2021, but he would certainly be open to working with WWE again in the future.

#1. Kurt Angle opens up about rumors that Taz was a dangerous worker in WWE

youtube-cover

Kurt Angle spoke about his rookie year in the WWE on the latest episode of his 'The Kurt Angle Show' podcast on AdFreeShows.com.

The Olympic gold medalist faced a debuting Taz at the Royal Rumble 2000 pay-per-view, and the match had a terrifying spot that saw Kurt Angle almost land on his head from a suplex.

The spot, unfortunately, got Taz the unwanted backstage reputation of being a dangerous worker. The WWE officials reportedly even wanted to talk to the former ECW Champion following the Kurt Angle match.

Kurt Angle debunked all the speculation and stated that Taz was not a dangerous in-ring worker. The WWE Hall of Famer said that he always had a great time working with Taz. Kurt Angle himself came up with the idea for the German suplex, in which he wanted to land on his stomach and not the back.

"Taz was not dangerous. That was my idea. I told Taz to give me a German suplex and throw me really high in the air, and I would flip over to my stomach. I wanted to do a moonsault German suplex where I landed on my stomach. I thought it looked really vicious and brutal. So, that was all my call. I'm not sure why Taz didn't tell the office that I'm the one that chose the move. Taz was never dangerous with the suplexes. He was relatively safe. I never had a problem with him." Taz ended Kurt Angle's undefeated streak at the Rumble in 2000, and the former Olympian explained the reasoning behind the match's outcome.
