What's the story?

Brock Lesnar made his return to Monday Night Raw this past week where he was able to confront his Royal Rumble challenger Braun Strowman but shockingly, there was no physicality between the two men.

In case you didn't know...

Braun Strowman underwent elbow surgery just weeks before he made his return to the ring at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs last month, but The Monster Among Men hasn't actually wrestled a match since his return.

At TLC, he relied on the help of the Raw locker room to defeat Baron Corbin, whilst the following night on Raw, he was once again helped as he defeated Corbin and cost him the chance to regain his job as General Manager.

The heart of the matter

Braun Strowman has appeared on a number of episodes of Raw over the past few weeks, but he is yet to actually wrestle, which could be because he is still not cleared for action.

According to Dave Meltzer on The Wrestling Observer Radio, Lesnar and Strowman were unable to perform physically since Strowman is still recovering from his surgery last year.

“I wanna make something clear that Braun Strowman is not cleared because that’s also why what happened tonight happened because he’s not cleared for anything physical yet,” he said via Ringsidenews.

What's next?

Braun Strowman faces Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at The Royal Rumble on January 27th, which is when The Monster Among Men is expected to be cleared for action following his elbow surgery, otherwise, WWE would need to come up with a creative option for the Universal Championship.
