WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns not booked for upcoming house shows, will appear on Monday Night Raw
What will Reigns do when he returns to Monday Night Raw?
What’s the story?
Roman Reigns showed up at a house show last week to exact revenge on Braun Strowman for the brutal beatdown he suffered at his hands. However, Reigns is not booked for any upcoming house shows this weekend. Furthermore, according to F4WOnline.com, he may appear on Monday Night Raw next week.
In case you didn’t know...
Reigns has only been absent from live events and WWE programming on three other occasions. The first came in 2014 when he suffered a hernia injury that would keep him out of action until TLC 2014.
The second incident was following the beatdown at the hands of Triple H in the buildup to their match last year at WrestleMania 32. Triple H targeted Reigns’ nose in the attack and Reigns was rumoured to be written off TV to correct a deviated septum.
The third incident was also in 2016 and was the result of a wellness policy violation. Reigns was suspended two days after Money in the Bank and wouldn’t return to house shows and television until two days before the Battleground pay-per-view.
The heart of the matter
The reason that Reigns won’t be at the upcoming house shows is likely tied to the passing of his brother Matt Anoa’i; known to wrestling fans as “Rosey” of 3-Minute Warning and his team with Shane “The Hurricane” Helms.
After looking at the WWE ticket information, it’s clear that Reigns is not advertised for any house shows over the weekend and has been silent on social media since being attacked by Braun Strowman.
Despite the unfortunate passing in the Anoa’i family, Reigns is still expected to appear on Monday Night Raw to continue the buildup to his match with Strowman at Payback. Although Reigns is not advertised for live events this weekend, he is advertised for Raw, which indicates that Strowman and Reigns will have some type of interaction on next week’s episode.
On behalf of Sportskeeda, we would like to extend our condolences to Reigns and other members of the Anoa’i family for the unfortunate passing of Matt Anoa’i. Hopefully, the WWE prepares vignette to honour his death next week and remind fans of how entertaining he was during the Ruthless Aggression Era.
As far as Reigns goes, hopefully, The Big Dog will be in the right head space when dealing with the fans in attendance next week as they will surely continue to boo him.
