Hulk Hogan set for major WWE TV role

Hulk Hogan is going nowhere. There was a lot of doubt if WWE will ever forgive him for what he has done and things seem to be cleared up right now. It's all forgiven and Hulkamania is going ro run wild in teh company once again.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson has now reported that Hogan is set to have a major TV role in the build up to WrestleMania 36. The former WWE champion is being considered because the pay-per-view is set to be held in Tampa – his 'country'.

Johnson was quoted saying; “It’s Tampa, which is Hulk Hogan country, so perhaps the nWo makes sense. I haven’t heard any definite names at this juncture.”

Rumours also suggest that nWo might be inducted into the Hall of Fame next year. The founding members, Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, and Scott Hall, are already in the Hall of Fame individually and it won't be long before they are inducted as a fraction too.

WWE wanted Balor at Smackville despite stomach flu

WWE wanted Finn Balor involved at Smackville despite having a stomach flu. The former Intercontinental champion was admitted to hospital straight away and is now expected to be on SmackDown Live tonight.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, WWE officials planned on a backstage segment involving Balor and Nakamura with the champion attacking him. However, before they could do anything, Finn had to be taken to the hospital.

Sean said: “We're told that WWE officials realized that Balor left when they decided that they were going to film a segment where Shinsuke Nakamura took him out. We're told that Balor didn't know of the plans, and there wasn't any malice on his part.”

Chris Sabin teases joining WWE Performance Centre

It looks like former Impact Wrestling World Champion is heading to WWE. Chris Sabin tweeted a photo of the WWE Performance centre logo last night sparking rumours that he is moving to the company.

No more 'Wild Card' rule?

The wild card rule introduced by Vince McMahon a couple of months back has been a mess. The idea was to have just 4 superstars from one brand to appear on the other but the count always exceeded in the end.

Now, Sportskeeda's very own, Tom Colohue has revealed that WWE will be quietly wrapping up the wild card rule after SummerSlam. He reports that a number of superstars have been told about this but it looks like the brand split will remain.

A WWE source told Tom Colohue: “They're quietly wrapping up the wild card rule. No big announcement or anything. There's a lot of people who want it to end. Companies, sponsors, management and talent. You don't get another Lynch and Rousey moment without that Survivor Series format.”

With Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff taking charge of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live soon, it will be interesting to see how things pan out for WWE.

Last night's Raw was well received by the WWE Universe as it was filled with many entertaining moments. Wrestling Observer Online now report that Paul Heyman was in charge of a lot of segments, including the Gauntlet match and several other parts of the show.

The Gauntlet match saw Ricochet defeat Rey Mysterio, Andrade, Cesaro and Sami Zayn to earn a match at SummerSlam for the United States championship. Moreover, it is being speculated that Heyman was the one behind Brock Lesnar's brutal assault on Seth Rollins.

If this is the sign of things to come under Paul Heyman, WWE ratings are set to be on the up once again. The show was full of high-impact moments and kept the fans glued for 3 whole hours.

It is difficult to say what more Heyman will add to Raw in the coming weeks but it is a good start for sure.
