Tables, Ladders and Chairs is scheduled to take place on December 15th and it's surprising that WWE has not announced a single match for the PPV.
In the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed the real reason behind WWE holding off on the announcements until the very last minute.
Vince McMahon has reportedly not made the final decisions.
As reported by Meltzer, the WWE Chairman's philosophy has changed when it comes to PPVs as the company is now more focussed on network sign-ups rather than the traditional PPV business, that is still limited in nature.
The current patterns have revealed that the sign-ups don't happen before but on the last day of the show. This is in stark contrast to ticket sales, which are unveiled a month before the show. It's the same with PPV parties, which are arranged weeks before the day of the PPV.
The belief in WWE is that there is no rush to officially advertise matches for the PPV.
As reported earlier, TLC is expected to be main evented by a Universal Championship match between The Fiend and Daniel Bryan. However, the company could also be considering replacing Bryan with another former WWE Champion with the intention of extending the angle even further.
The build-up on TV points to a few matches being added to the show. Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin in a gimmick match seems locked in for the PPV.
Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs. Asuka & Kairi Sane for the WWE Women's Tag Team titles is also one of the featured matches that have been rumored for weeks. Another match that has been in the works for weeks is the feud between Rusev and Bobby Lashley, which will also happen at TLC.
There are various other matches that are being discussed backstage but Vince McMahon is yet to put his stamp of approval on the final card.
WWE has just over a week to put the final touches on the storylines for the TLC PPV and it would be interesting to see the direction they go in.
