WWE SmackDown: 3 botches and mistakes you missed this week (15th November 2019)

It was the penultimate episode of Friday Night SmackDown ahead of Survivor Series last night and it was a show that contained more build-up to one of the company's biggest shows of the year. Survivor Series is billed as the one night of the year that RAW and SmackDown collide, but this year will be a little different since NXT has finally been given the chance to be part of the show.

This has led to constant invasions between NXT and the main roster, whilst RAW and SmackDown haven't had to invade each other this year because NXT has taken the fight to them and in turn, they have then headed to Full Sail to continue the feud.

This week NXT invaded once again as SmackDown sent a clear message to their Women's Division whilst The Undisputed Era continued to taunt the New Day ahead of their showdown this weekend.

Despite the fact that this week was another solid episode, there were a number of awkward moments throughout the episode that were spotted by members of the WWE Universe.

#3 Mustafa Ali had to hang on

It's been a fantastic week for Ali, since he was able to get his name back a few days ago so that he can now be called Mustafa Ali once again, and last night on SmackDown, he teamed up with Shorty G and defeated former Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler in order to retain their place in the SmackDown Survivor Series team.

That being said, there were a number of close calls in the match, including a spot where Bobby Roode threw him over the rope. But when he did, it seemed to have been with much more force than Ali expected, since he almost fell out of the ring and needed to recover fast in order to deliver the followup kick.

#2 Otis forgets he's legal

Heavy Machinery were in action last night against some local jobbers who were not prepared for the challenge that had been put in front of them. It was obviously a squash match that was planned to make Heavy Machinery look strong since they are missing out on Survivor Series, but it wasn't a match that was as straight forward as many fans expected.

Heavy Machinery did pick up the win after the Compactor finisher, but what followed was slightly awkward since it was Tucker who jumped on top of his opponent and was prepared to make the pin whilst Otis was ready to dive out of the ring. The issue was the fact that the referee was on his game and knew that Tucker wasn't legal so he can be seen and heard shouting that Otis needed to make the pin.

For a big guy, Otis has fast reactions and Tucker was able to dive out of the cover so that Otis could pin their opponent instead and the duo were then able to register another interesting victory since their move over to Friday Night SmackDown.

#1 Tegan Nox isn't legal

The women of NXT made their presence felt last night in Philadelphia when they invaded SmackDown mid-way through the match between Nikki Cross and Bayley. Whilst Bayley and Shayna disappeared through the crowd as part of the brawl, the women of SmackDown and NXT stood their ground and an eight-woman tag team match was then announced.

Tegan Nox, Mia Yim, Dakota Kai, and Rhea Ripley took on Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke, Nikki Cross and Carmella in a match that would give the other women a huge advantage heading into the traditional Survivor Series match between the women next weekend.

It was quite a hectic match and at one point Tegan Nox attempted to pin Carmella, but the referee refused to count since Nox had just tagged in Dakota Kai. Nox was then forced to stand up and exit the ring whilst Kai attempted to make the cover instead but by this time Carmella had been down for around a three count and was easily able to kick out.

It was one of the biggest botches of the night, which showed the difference between the NXT and main roster women's divisions.
