WWE SmackDown: 3 subtle but important details you missed on this week's show (November 1st, 2019)

This week's SmackDown included some subtle but interesting details throughout the show

Following Crown Jewel on Thursday night, many of WWE's main roster Superstars failed to make it back to the United States in time to be part of SmackDown that was live from Buffalo, New York. Rather than cancel the show, WWE made the fantastic decision to put the show in the hands of COO Triple H, who called in the NXT cavalry.

There were several interesting cameos this week on SmackDown, as the build-up to Survivor Series began. Whilst there were many moments as part of the show that the WWE Universe will remember for years to come, there were also some interesting details that the fans may have missed since the show was full of shocks and surprises.

#3 Renee Young is kicked in the face

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were originally scheduled to take on Carmella and Dana Brooke, but when they were attacked by Bianca Belair backstage, Rhea Ripley and Tegan Nox made their way to the ring to take the fight to Fire & Desire.

It was a test that the SmackDown women were not prepared for, which is why there were a number of botches in the match, but one of the worst moments came when Tegan Nox threw Sonya Deville over the announce table and she kicked Renee Young clean in the face.

Young commented on this later by stating that she had a "bloody nose" after the shock attack and the footage below shows that she was struck by Deville, who had to throw herself over the table since Nox let go of her. Young was able to continue her job after the assault, but she was left annoyed by it.

#2 Bayley debuts a new finisher

The heel turn is now officially complete for the current SmackDown Women's Champion
The heel turn is now officially complete for the current SmackDown Women's Champion

Bayley turned heel on SmackDown a few weeks ago when she was able to win back the SmackDown Women's Championship from Charlotte Flair before The Queen was drafted over to Raw. Bayley and Sasha Banks have since been the women to beat on SmackDown and this week Nikki Cross was able to challenge Bayley for the Championship after earning her opportunity last week.

Banks was in Bayley's corner as she was able to defeat Nikki with a new facebuster finisher. Many fans may have missed this because WWE didn't play a replay of the finish since Shayna Baszler ran in and attacked all three women. This was part of what was seen as an NXT invasion and Bayley was Baszler's main target.

This was the final piece of the face Bayley character that was left and it appears that the former NXT Women's Champion has now gone completely dark and has cut out her entire hugging gimmick. Her new finisher looks much more powerful than the Bayley to Belly, so this is a satisfying upgrade for the current Women's Champion.

#1 Brock Lesnar brings a toy belt to SmackDown?

Brock Lesnar didn't bring the real WWE Championship to SmackDown

Brock Lesnar wasn't originally supposed to appear on SmackDown tonight on FOX, since it was mere hours after The Beast defended his WWE Championship against Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel. That being said, the travel issues obviously caused Vince McMahon to call in favor and Lesnar appeared alongside Heyman tonight on SmackDown.

Lesnar announced that he quit SmackDown and made his way over to Raw so that he could exact revenge on Rey Mysterio for the attack that he felt at the hands of the Master of the 619 in Saudi Arabia, but it appears that Lesnar forgot his Championship.

Lesnar had a title around his waist, but it was one that was missing his red side plates and it was obviously made of plastic. The title was too shiny to be an actual Championship, which means that The Beast obviously doesn't take the title home with him after matches and the original could be stuck in Saudi Arabia with 175 other WWE employees. It wouldn't have been as obvious as many of the subtle details on this list, but Brock definitely brought a plastic belt to the ring.
