WWE SmackDown returned to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, for this week's episode. It was the blue brand's first televised show in the city since February 19, 2019 - almost exactly three years ago.

This week, WWE announced a stacked line-up for the show. Natalya challenged Aliyah to a Dungeon Style contest where only pinfall or submission is the only way to win.

It was also announced that Sami Zayn would host another episode of his "InZayn" talk show with special guests Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and his rockstar partner Rick Boogs. Nakamura and Zayn will meet next week for the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg was also slated to return ahead of his blockbuster Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns next Saturday at the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia.

Plus, Charlotte Flair was pitted against Naomi as she put her SmackDown Women's Championship on the line in a match made by Sonya Deville, which was signed off by Adam Pearce last week. It was undoubtedly booked to be an action-packed night just a stone's throw away from Bourbon Street.

That being said, let's take a look at the five biggest news stories coming out of this week's episode of SmackDown.

#5 Johnny Knoxville visits a WWE store and damages Sami Zayn's merchandise

Before the latest installment of "InZayn" taking place in the ring, a video was shown of 'Jackass' star Johnny Knoxville visiting a pop-up WWE store.

Knoxville has been embroiled in a feud with Sami Zayn since the beginning of the year. This week, the former took it to another level when he visited the store, and vandalized a Sami canvas with the words "loser" sprayed on it.

If that wasn't enough, Johnny caught a glimpse of Sami's new t-shirt design, a rip off the new Jackass Forever logo. He immediately took some of the shirts outside and damaged them using a woodchipper.

It appears their feud is far from over. With Zayn taking on Shinsuke Nakamura next week for the Intercontinental Championship, we could well see Knoxville get involved.

#4 Los Lotharios pick up shock win on SmackDown

Hot on the heels of their exciting match last week on SmackDown, we were treated to a rematch between Los Lotharios and Big E & Kofi Kingston.

Before the match, Humberto and Angel introduced their brand new kiss cam, where they kiss an audience member together. They even have a new nickname being called The Lethal Lovers. The company is certainly going all out with them.

The match itself was just as fast-paced and exciting as the week before. Interestingly, it was the young team that picked up the win. Humberto collected the victory by pinning Kofi Kingston to cap off an impressive evening for the duo.

#3 Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss at Elimination Chamber will now be a Falls Count Anywhere match

Drew McIntyre returned to SmackDown last week and announced he was coming straight for Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss.

In fact, he managed to get his hands on Moss by delivering a devastating Claymore Kick. It resulted in the latter sustaining a black eye which he sported this week. However, Moss tried to use it to his advantage to wriggle out of his scheduled match with Drew at the Elimination Chamber match next week.

Madcap Moss visited the doctor's room to state his vision was impaired. The doctor attempted to perform some tests. He told him to close his eyes, and when he opened, Drew's sword was right in front of him. Miraculously, his eyesight had returned.

To add more salt to the situation for Madcap, Drew McIntyre stated that their match at the premium live event would now be Falls Count Anywhere.

#2 Universal Champion Roman Reigns says he's going to 'Goldberg' Goldberg at WWE Elimination Chamber

Instead of the usual in-ring segment of the Universal Champion on SmackDown, we were given a backstage sit-down interview this week.

Michael Cole interviewed Roman Reigns for his insight ahead of his Universal Championship defense next week against Goldberg. Reigns was in no mood to chalk up his opponent's achievements and proceeded to say that he's the greatest champion in history.

Roman Reigns and Goldberg were due to meet at WrestleMania 36 before their match was axed due to the pandemic. However, Reigns claims that he is much different now as The Tribal Chief and Head of the Table. He vowed to 'Goldberg' Goldberg next Saturday.

#1 Charlotte Flair retains SmackDown Women's Championship against Naomi, Ronda Rousey appears after the match

In the match of the night, and perhaps one of the best matches of the year so far. Charlotte Flair and Naomi put on a stellar championship bout in the main event of SmackDown.

The match had everything from near falls to Naomi almost becoming a three-time women's champion. However, after some high-paced action, Charlotte Flair picked up the win with her Natural Selection finisher.

The champion prevailed, but Sonya Deville - who Naomi had slapped at the start of the night - entered the ring to get in her face after the match. The Glow responded by attacking her, only for Charlotte to blindside her.

This brought out Ronda Rousey, who fought Charlotte and Sonya before they retreated. We might see a tag team match between Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville and Ronda Rousey & Naomi soon.
