Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso met in the main event on WWE SmackDown, with the stipulation being that if Bryan won, he'd get a Universal Championship shot at Fastlane. Unfortunately, there was a double count-out during the match, meaning that there was no clear winner.

However, Daniel Bryan has a chance to defeat Jey Uso in a steel cage match next week, with stakes that are just as big. Here's what WWE.com says:

The following morning on Talking Smack, Special Council Paul Heyman revealed to Bryan that he had been authorized to offer him a rematch with Uso on the following week's SmackDown. If Bryan won, he would get his Universal Title Match at WWE Fastlane. If he lost, however, he had to acknowledge Reigns as The Head of the Table and the best competitor ever. Bryan accepted the offer with the condition that the rematch be in a Steel Cage to assure a clear winner.

#5 Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman help Jey Uso defeat Daniel Bryan

One of the least-exciting scenarios is the possibility where Jey Uso wins, with the help of Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. Such a scenario won't do much for either man. And it will leave fans upset, especially after this week's conclusion.

That said, maybe it builds towards Fastlane, and in one of the following weeks, Daniel Bryan finds a way to get onto the card. Before that, he has to acknowledge Roman Reigns as the 'Head of the Table'.

It is contrived and very pro wrestling, but hey, it's a scenario that could certainly unfold. On the bright side, Jey Uso scores a victory over a major star, even if it's by spurious means. But maybe a better option exists...

#4 Jey Uso defeats Daniel Bryan absolutely clean

Why might Jey Uso defeat Daniel Bryan clean on SmackDown this week, you ask? The answer is simple. Daniel Bryan, even though he has reached the pinnacle of sports entertainment on more than one occasion, loves to put other stars over. This week, it may be Jey Uso's turn.

Jey Uso was a person confined to the tag team division. Honestly, as good as The Usos were as a unit, nobody saw a future for the man beyond the duo. Kudos to the SmackDown creative team for recognizing his talent and allowing him to be a part of the ongoing storyline with Roman Reigns, which has elevated him to a new level.

Maybe Daniel Bryan sees the opportunity to elevate Jey Uso's stock even further. After all, he can always find a way to secure a spot at Fastlane the following week.

Daniel Bryan may have his hands full against Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, and even Paul Heyman during the course of this match. This situation has been illustrated in the previous slide. However, all hope may not be lost for the leader of 'The Yes Movement'.

Could Edge, who is a fellow babyface and a man who was told that he'd never wrestle again, much like Daniel Bryan, interfere in the outcome? He could take Jey Uso out and even deliver a spear to Roman Reigns, to make sure that the playing field is fair.

This also sows the seeds for a potential Edge vs. Daniel Bryan dream match, where the latter could claim that he doesn't need the 'Rated-R Superstar' to win his matches. Maybe such a contest happens on the road to WrestleMania this year.

Edge's interference during the match will also make Jey Uso look strong, even in defeat.

Plus, having a big name like Edge on the show cannot hurt the viewership.

Yes, Daniel Bryan could secure a shot at Fastlane by defeating Jey Uso, making him tap out to the 'Yes Lock'. Or indeed, a massive running knee could be what brings Jey Uso down. Whatever the case may be, Daniel Bryan could secure that coveted spot against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

Daniel Bryan has made it clear that he doesn't have too many years left in him. He wishes to retire in due course of time and focus on his family. So a victory over Jey Uso and a match against Roman Reigns, where he invariably comes up short could be one of his last hurrahs. There is no way that the marquee Edge vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania is going to change anytime soon.

Coming back to the point at hand, Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso could go to war on WWE SmackDown inside the steel cage, where the latter has a great showing but ultimately comes up short. Daniel Bryan always makes his opponents look dominant.
