WWE SmackDown - Best and worst- The real reason for the transformation in Alexa Bliss revealed, Identity of mystery woman apparent, 2 Major returns

This week's episode of WWE SmackDown was pretty entertaining overall
This week's episode of WWE SmackDown was pretty entertaining overall

There was a lot to like about this episode of WWE SmackDown and honestly speaking, this has been the case every single week. WWE is clearly putting in all their efforts into making WWE SmackDown their A-show, and while parts of RAW seem, for lack of a better word, raw and unseasoned, WWE SmackDown does not suffer from the same problems.

This week's episode of WWE SmackDown wasn't as eventful as most other weeks (but that said, it did have its fair share of good moments). Let's look at what worked on this week's WWE SmackDown and what WWE could have done differently.

Be sure to leave a comment in the space below, and share your thoughts about WWE SmackDown, the good, the bad, and the ugly, ladies, and gentlemen.

#1 Best: Alexa Bliss is triggered by certain words on WWE SmackDown

Alexa Bliss is far and above the best actor in the world of wrestling, not merely in the WWE SmackDown brand, and this was obvious from the way that a confused Alexa Bliss, not knowing nor understanding the changes that have come upon her, failed to answer either Nikki Cross or Michael Cole behind the commentary desk.

When she delivered Sister Abigail to Lacey Evans this week, it was made abundantly clear on commentary that saying the words- 'The Fiend' sends Alexa Bliss into some kind of trance where she channels elements of The Fiend, and this could be a very useful tool to tell stories in forthcoming WWE SmackDown episodes.

One cannot wait for the eventual interaction between Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss, where so many possibilities could potentially happen, from Wyatt turning face to Alexa Bliss becoming his valet.

Whatever the case may be, we are in for some exciting times.

#1 Worst: Prolonging the inevitable on WWE SmackDown

Everyone loves a good mystery when there's an element of mystery actually involved, such as the identities of the members of RETRIBUTION. As regards the mystery woman on WWE SmackDown, it is abundantly clear from the vignettes and the clues that WWE SmackDown fans on Twitter have unearthed thus far that the supposed 'mystery woman' is Carmella, and the fact that WWE chooses to prolong these vignettes so long, may just take the whole deal into Emmalina territory.

The last thing that WWE SmackDown star Carmella needs at this moment is for people to get tired of the vignettes when the pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow is so obvious, so clear, so very evident, and so not worthy of being extended. Let's hope that in this new avatar, which does seem quite heelish, she doesn't come in to squash Naomi (who has a groundswell of support from WWE SmackDown fans) because almost every other babyface on the brand seems to be occupied at the moment (one can't see her squashing Tamina immediately).

#2 Best: Big E returns to WWE SmackDown, and in a sense, so does Sasha Banks

Big E had been stuck in a mid-card, non-serious role for so long that despite his Hall of Fame worthy tag team run with The New Day, people wondered if he had the intensity, the fire, and the believability to become the face of WWE SmackDown or a future WWE Universal Champion, when he embarked on his singles run. Lo and behold, Big E proved to the world that he does indeed have the seriousness to be that top dog that he was meant to be, with his actions this week on WWE SmackDown. With all due respect to Kofi Kingston, Big E could become the breakout star of The New Day, in due course of time, because he truly is the real deal, as he keeps proving on WWE SmackDown time and time again.

He wasn't the only star to return to WWE SmackDown, because Sasha Banks addressed the attack from Bayley with a promo.

Both of these segments were pretty awesome, all around.

#2 Worst: Cesaro defeats Gran Metalik on WWE SmackDown

One hates to pick on the Lucha House Party in this manner week after week on our WWE SmackDown reviews, but it's very hard to take them seriously because of the way that they have been booked and they have been presented thus far on the WWE SmackDown brand. Compare the manner in which other luchadors like Pentagon and Fenix are used in AEW as a member of Eddie Kingson's entourage (or even the Death Triangle) or closer to home, the way in which Rey Mysterio is used on RAW. Unfortunately, Lucha House Party's 'lucha lucha lucha' gimmick on WWE SmackDown does not do them any real favors.

Maybe the WWE SmackDown and RAW titles should have been unified because of the lack of competition for Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura on the blue brand.

Here's a formal request for Daniel Bryan to return to WWE SmackDown so that he can team up with Drew Gulak to potentially elevate the current WWE SmackDown tag team division to the next level.

#3 Best/worst: All of the WWE SmackDown drama with Otis

Listen, it's impossible to deny that Otis is entertaining, but unlike Big E, this man doesn't have a serious bone in his body and for him to become the face of WWE SmackDown as the brand new Universal Champion seems like a far-fetched thought. Can you seriously imagine him pinning someone like Roman Reigns, or even if he moves to RAW from WWE SmackDown, pinning someone such as Drew McIntyre or Randy Orton?

Yes, The Miz does comedy very well, but somehow the more Otis is involved with The Miz and Morrison, we see him relegated into a comedy mid-card spot on WWE SmackDown. And we all know from watching him on Talking Smack that when The Miz needs to be serious, and is allowed to be serious, he is at his absolute best.
