WWE Survivor Series takes place tomorrow night and this year's iteration of the PPV will see NXT squaring off with RAW and SmackDown for the first time. The NXT Championship will also be defended on the show following NXT TakeOver: WarGames on the previous night.

With Survivor Series less than 48 hours away, let's take a look at the latest rumors regarding one of the biggest PPV's of 2019.

Original plans for title change scrapped

We start up with cancelled plans for a title change at Survivor Series. Dave Meltzer recently spoke about this in a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer said that Nakamura was initially slated to defend his title at Survivor Series but plans later changed and he was put in the triple threat with AJ Styles and Roderick Strong.

Meltzer said that Daniel Bryan was originally supposed to be in that match but was later moved to face The Fiend instead:

“Daniel Bryan, I believe was going to be in the match with Roderick Strong and AJ [Styles], which would have been an absolutely incredible three-way. I just know that Nakamura was losing the title to someone. He was being programmed with Bryan. It could have been Ali (that he would have lost the title to). When Bryan got moved into the Wyatt match, Nakamura is now not losing so that has changed. So they changed that booking. The rest of the card is largely announced.”

No title changes at Survivor Series

Only two main roster titles will be defended at WWE Survivor Series. We have The Fiend defending his WWE Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan while Brock Lesnar defends the WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio.

Cageside Seats is reporting that neither of these titles are expected to change hands:

"There aren’t expected to be any title changes at Survivor Series, and both title programs will likely go all the way up to, and possibly through, Royal Rumble."

Survivor Series bonuses for NXT stars

A number of NXT Superstars will be competing at Survivor Series this year as we will see RAW, SmackDown and the black and yellow brand go head to head for this first time. Some NXT stars will be pulling double duty with NXT TakeOver: WarGames taking place on the night before Survivor Series.

We are now starting to get reports regarding what kind of pay bonuses NXT stars could receive for being on Survivor Series. Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue reported earlier this week regarding the pay bonus NXT stars will receive for competing at Survivor Series. Here's a part of what Tom's report said:

"With a small number of NXT Superstars, including three members of the Undisputed Era and Shayna Baszler, currently signed up to work both WarGames and Survivor Series back to back, details are starting to emerge about their expected compensation.
"Several sources have suggested that any NXT talent working both shows will be expecting a boost in their pay packet at similar or the same rates as the RAW and SmackDown talent that they would be competing against."

WWE Intercontinental Champion has a shiny new title belt around his waist. The Artist will face NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and WWE United States Championship at Survivor Series. But, what's in store for Nakamura after the PPV?

According to Live Event listings for November and December, it looks like Shinsuke Nakamura could be set for a feud with The Miz.

Reason why Rusev vs Lashley was pulled

Rusev and Lashley's feud could be the most polarizing storyline in WWE right now. Despite garnering millions of views on YouTube the storyline has been panned by fans and even on WWE's own show, WWE Backstage.

It's surprising to see that Rusev vs Lashley isn't on the Survivor Series card. Dave Meltzer revealed the possible reason on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

"The feeling is that the show is overloaded because of two three team elimination matches that in theory would have to go ten to 14 falls each."
