TLC 2020: 5 potential finishes for Sasha Banks vs. Carmella

Who will leave TLC with the SmackDown Women's Championship?
Who will leave TLC with the SmackDown Women's Championship?

Carmella recently debuted a new look and character on SmackDown and has since focused her attention on SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks. After weeks of attacks on Banks, The Untouchable Star will challenge for the title this weekend at WWE TLC.

Despite both women being part of gimmick matches in the past, this weekend's Tables, Ladders, and Chairs event will not see the two women collide in any kind of match, instead, their match will retain all the usual rules.

Banks only recently won the SmackDown Women's Championship inside Hell in a Cell, so this weekend will be a huge test for The Boss. Here are just five potential outcomes for the SmackDown Women's Championship match at TLC.

#5 Carmella wins the SmackDown Women's Championship at TLC

Carmella is a former two-time Money in the Bank winner and has already lifted the SmackDown Women's Championship in the past. Despite much of the build to this match centering around how much better The Boss is, Carmella has actually created a lot of history in WWE in her own right.

Carmella's new character seems to be a huge hit in WWE and it's not hard to imagine that at TLC this weekend, it could be the former Champion coming out on top.

Sasha Banks is perhaps her toughest opponent to date, but just four years ago Carmella battled Nikki Bella in a No-DQ match at TLC. Even though she didn't come out on top, she proved that she's definitely not a woman to be messed with.

This weekend, she could once again prove the same if she's able to dethrone Sasha Banks, who is currently considered to be one of the best female wrestlers in WWE.

It's bound to be an aggressive match following Carmella's brutal antics in the weeks prior.

#4 Sasha Banks retains the SmackDown Women's Championship at TLC

Sasha Banks is widely considered to be one of the best female wrestlers in WWE at present. However, she could have met her match in Carmella at TLC, with her new look and attitude.

Carmella has seemingly had Sasha Banks' number in the build-up to their match and has got the better of The Boss on several occasions. Even though The Boss has been outnumbered by Carmella and her new assistant, she has put up a good fight each time. She was only defeated by the numbers game and Carmella's new obsession with champagne.

This weekend at TLC, as long as Carmella's assistant isn't allowed to join her at ringside, this should be a straight-up wrestling match. It's hard to see the former champion prevailing in a one-on-one setting.

Sasha Banks went through hell to win the championship last month. You can guarantee that she will put herself through it once again at TLC to retain and walk into 2021 as the SmackDown Women's Champion.

#3 Bayley interferes and costs Sasha Banks the win at TLC

Bayley has moved onto a feud with fellow SmackDown star Bianca Belair in recent months, but that doesn't mean she won't still be closely watching her former best friend at TLC.

Despite the two women settling their differences back at Hell in a Cell, there are rumors that WWE could be set to revisit this volatile friendship as part of next year's build-up to WrestleMania.

Bayley and Sasha Banks have had some incredible feuds over the years. Given the former champion's new attitude, she could decide to help Carmella win the SmackDown Women's Championship at TLC to take it away from Banks.

Carmella is smart enough to take advantage of any distraction that heads her way. She would take a scrappy win if it means she will become a two-time Women's Champion on Sunday night at TLC.

Several women in the WWE locker room could target Sasha Banks, but at present, Bayley looks the most likely.

#2 Sasha Banks intentionally gets herself disqualified at TLC

Sasha Banks has already put her SmackDown Women's Championship on the line against Carmella last week on SmackDown, ahead of TLC.

The Boss was outnumbered when Carmella's assistant stepped in and tried to help the star come out on top. She then decided that she only had one option when it came to retaining her championship.

Banks has all of the advantage heading into TLC since she's the champion, and the title can't change hands after a disqualification or a count-out. This means that she could decide to walk away from the match and take a count-out loss, or even get herself disqualified once again if she feels that the odds are out of her favor.

Banks is the face heading into this match at TLC, so she shouldn't need to rely on a heel tactic. However, if WWE wants to continue this feud heading into the new year and the Royal Rumble, this would be a good way for the match to end and allow Banks to still look strong.

#1 Carmella's sommelier either helps or hinders her at TLC

Over the past few weeks on SmackDown, Carmella's new assistant, referred to as her sommelier, has helped Carmella come out on top whenever she has had a confrontation with Sasha Banks. Could he affect the match at TLC?

Carmella was locked in the Bank Statement on SmackDown last week and looked as though she was about to lose her Women's Championship match. However, her sommelier stepped in and helped her get out of the submission.

It was due to this interference that Banks later opted to get herself disqualified and set up the rematch for this weekend at TLC. This past week on SmackDown, Carmella's assistant once again stepped in and tried to help fight off Banks. But, he received a slap in the face for his efforts.

If Carmella is allowed to have her sommelier at ringside at TLC alongside her champagne, then it's easy to see him once again getting involved. That being said, Banks could be prepared for it this time around and his interference could go wrong

What would happen if his interference got Carmella disqualified and cost her the chance to win the SmackDown Women's Championship?
