Max Gleason, better known online as Smooth McGroove, is an American YouTuber who specialises in recording rearranged acapella renditions of video game soundtracks. Max was born on December 5, 1984. He appears in several videos of himself, ostensibly filming each portion, and frequently includes films of the game being played as well as appearances by his cat Charl and later Angel.

At the age of eleven, Gleason started playing the drums, which marked the beginning of his musical career. To sustain himself, he ultimately began giving private music lessons.
