Technoblade

Before Technoblade created his main YouTube channel, he had another channel named "StudioLore", on which he posted a few times and on an irregular basis. The channel featured low-quality Team Fortress 2 videos and Roblox Sword Fight On The Heights videos. Technoblade was around the age of 10 when he started publishing videos on this channel.

Technoblade's first Minecraft video was posted on another channel named "Derp Squad". The channel was created specifically for collaborations with his brother but was abandoned when the "Technoblade" channel was made. All the videos on this channel were uploaded in August 2013 and about a month later the “StudioLore” channel went inactive. This happened roughly two months before the creation of the "Technoblade" channel.

In the past, Technoblade mostly uploaded Blitz Survival Games. His 500th episode special, titled "Ultimate Hunger Games," was his most-viewed video before he gained more popularity. He has also made older videos of himself cooking and other green screen content showing his YouTube awards. Hypixel continues to be his main means of obtaining views.

Technoblade’s first-ever video dates back to November 1, 2013.

Technoblade was well-known throughout the Minecraft community for his skill in PVP or player-versus-player combat. He has earned the [PIG+++] rank on Hypixel for winning the Minecraft Monday tournament four times, more than any other YouTuber. He has collaborated many times with other famous YouTubers, many of whom have been through Minecraft Monday, some of whom were his teammates during the event.

In late November 2019, he joined a Minecraft server named SMP Earth, a Factions server where an assortment of YouTubers play survival mode on a 3000:1 recreation of the Earth. Technoblade had also begun streaming different games aside from Minecraft, such as the popular Minecraft spin-off "Minecraft Story Mode", and "Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord". During the Potato War, Technoblade made multiple alternative Minecraft accounts such as Asiyn, Whitelisted, Whitelisted 2, PommesDeTerre, NoHaxCanJustFly, Ender_Gamer09, and BizarreZzz.

Technoblade also played Hypixel's version of Skyblock, often featuring his friends and co-op members, such as Jiyn, TimeDeo, and xHascox. Technoblade had made an entire series of Hypixel Skyblock and is well-known for being "the fastest man in skyblock," as well as for his three-part Potato War saga in which he fought user Im_a_squid_kid for the #1 potato rank.

He had competed in Minecraft Mondays and the MC Championship. He also owns the accounts Whitelisted, BizzarreZz, PommesDeTerre, and Whitelisted2 (currently known as MrBeastGoon27) as shown in his Great Potato War videos. Those were shown in his "Bedwars youtube event with AciDic BliTzz, Mydoeza, ShadowApples, a lot of people really” video.

He also owns the account coolperson147, as mentioned in his “The art of a balanced breakfast - survival games montage” video. Technoblade also owned the account Technogrenade, used in the "Alt Account! - Solo Skywars #12" video back in 2016, as well as SuspicousPIgman.

Technoblade joined the Dream SMP on September 23, 2020. He coined himself as an Anarchist and was convinced by TommyInnit and Wilbur Soot to help them overthrow the corrupt government of the nation of L'Manburg, led by jschlatt and Quackity. However, when Tommy's side thought the war was over, Wilbur pressed a button that set off loads of buried TNT, which resulted in large-scale destruction.

In 2019, Technoblade participated in Keemstar's Minecraft event, Minecraft Mondays, where YouTubers and streamers would come together to play a wide variety of minigames, and the prize for winning was set as $10,000 to be split amongst the first-place team, changed to $5,000 past week three. He won four times: week one, week two, week six, and week ten.

He took part in the minigame-based event with other popular YouTubers and/or streamers including Skeppy, CaptainSparklez, Speedyw03, Vikkstar123, DanTDM, JeromeASF, jschlatt, MrBeast, Lachlan, PewDiePie, James Charles, Ninja, LazarBeam and more.

In 2020, Technoblade participated in Noxcrew's and Dangthatsalongname's MC Championship event, an event where YouTubers and streamers would come together to play a wide variety of fancy minigames. The tournament consisted of 10 teams and 40 players, featuring a variety of custom minigames. The prize is a special MCC coin by Noxcrew.

Techno is the only player in the said tournament to have played in more than one event and never leave the Top 10 Individual Leaderboard. Techno and Quig are the only 2 players in the tournament to score Top 2 Individuals with a team in 5th place and lower. Techno currently holds the Individual point record in the tournament, with an Individual score of 4307 points. Techno also currently holds the record for the highest point differential over 2nd place, with a lead of almost 1000 points. Techno also has the second-highest debut MCC performance ever with a whopping 3665 points, only behind TommyInnit with 3686.

Technoblade’s total net worth is estimated to be around $13 million as of 2022 but Technoblade streams exclusively on YouTube, so it is difficult to ascertain how much money he makes in a month, or on a yearly basis. However, when he does stream, he receives a significant amount of donations and also makes a hefty sum from the ad sense revenue on his YouTube channels.

He makes an additional amount from donations given to him by his viewers when he is live streaming, and from channel memberships. He has also won many Minecraft tournaments. Technoblade was born on June 1, 1999, and lived in San Francisco, California, in the United States. He has 3 younger sisters and a brother named Chris. He also had a small dog named Floof. Not much is known about where he was born or his parents’ identities, although it is known that he was born and raised in California.

Technoblade took fencing in middle school. He resided in California for most of the beginning of his YouTube career, attending and graduating high school in the state. In mid-2018, after his gap year, Technoblade moved to Chicago, Illinois for college as an English major for over a year, before moving back to San Francisco after dropping out.

He has mentioned that his parents were divorced. He currently lives with his father, as revealed in a stream when he forgot to mute his microphone. It was also revealed that his father owns a movie studio. Techno has made multiple references in his commentary videos and tweets about having ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). His ADHD was also confirmed on a Hypixel Forum post from September 27, 2014.

Techno has never done an official "face reveal", although his face was accidentally visible during his 100,000 subscribers special video, in the "Cooking with Technoblade" videos, and at the end of his "playing Minecraft hardcore with a steering wheel" stream. He is 6 feet 3 inches in height. He is an agnostic atheist.

On August 27, 2021, Technoblade uploaded a video titled "where I’ve been in", in which he revealed that he had been diagnosed with sarcoma in early August after feeling pain and swelling in his right arm. The cancer was detected early by doctors, and Techno was focused on getting chemotherapy treatments. Later in the video, he urged his viewers to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and take necessary precautions, since he was immunocompromised and at higher risk.

Since his announcement, he had received support from content creators like Dream, DanTDM, CaptainSparklez, and other members of the Dream SMP, as well as from Roblox YouTubers KreekCraft, HelloItsVG, and Ryguyrocky, as they used to be Minecraft YouTubers who watched him. Following his announcement, the hashtag #TechnoSupport soon trended on Twitter and other social media platforms for a couple of days.

In the following Minecraft Championship, in which Technoblade did not participate, Dream decided to match every point his team got and donated that amount in dollars to cancer research. Dream was able to raise roughly $21,000 for cancer research. Before the event started, Skeppy, Awesamdude, Finnster, TapL, and Grian agreed to individually donate whatever Dream donated as well. Between the five of them, roughly $105,000 was donated. The Aqua Axolotls (Antfrost, Fundy, Tubbo, and 5up) agreed to donate $50 every time they swore.

The week after Technoblade’s diagnosis, he posted a Sleepyboisinc video. He only streams or uploads/records whenever he had the strength between chemotherapy sessions, and recently did two lore-streams on the Dream SMP: one on his prison escape, and the other on him jailbreaking Dream, ConnorEatsPants, and Ranboo. He also streamed his attempt to beat Minecraft with viewers controlling the game, with viewers donating various awards to aid or prohibit him, and the stream raised roughly $322,900 for sarcoma research.

Additionally (though unrelated) the day he shared his diagnosis was the same day that his channel finally surpassed one billion video views, making him one of just over 200 channels to have achieved that milestone.

Surgery

On December 23, 2021, he uploaded a video with the ominous title "I Almost Became An Amputee". He said that he had scheduled to have his tumor removed in a surgery in October, but his doctors said that they would have to amputate his right arm, and it may have already been too late. After many referrals, the doctors told Technoblade that he could have a limb salvage procedure, in which the doctors would remove some of his bones and muscles, but they would also take out the tumor that caused his cancer in the first place. The second and more painful option would be a full amputation of his right arm. However, the amputation was said to increase his survival rate no further than the limb salvage procedure. They signed him up for a procedure but told him he had to wait for two weeks because the plastic surgeons were busy.

The surgery went quite well, despite Technoblade being in immense pain over the following week. They did have to take a few muscles out of his left leg, rendering it inanimate, but that muscle was used to replace the muscle in the shoulder. They also had to take out his right clavicle, leaving him with 205 bones, which he joked had advanced him beyond mortal levels. He also joked that his upper body strength was "steamrollered" so he would have to cancel his unannounced boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

However, he did say that the surgery removed 99.9% of his cancer, so he is almost completely in the clear. The last step is unknown, but it is believed that he will be fully recovered after that. On February 1, 2022, he announced the start of the Minecrafters vs Cancer fundraising event, which was also a response to his cancer battle. Multiple creators joined in by adding the fundraiser to all of their videos, while Techno also posted the fundraiser on his streams.

Death

Sadly, on June 30, 2022, Tehcnoblade passed away. Cancer was the leading cause of his death as his previous surgery wasn’t able to remove all of it. A detailed video uploaded by his father describes the entire scenario including a final note from Technoblade himself. The farewell message, written hours before his death and read by his father, says: "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. I am dead." He went on to reveal that his real name was in fact Alex, reminiscing about the time he had pranked viewers into believing his name was Dave.

He continues the message by saying, "Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time, as those were the happiest years of my life.” He ends the message with, “I hope you all go on to live long and prosperous lives. Because I love you guys. Technoblade out.”

Technoblade makes the majority of his videos on the Minecraft server Hypixel. The time range between his video uploads is usually a week to a month, though he has tried (and failed) to do daily episodes. He also streams Minecraft content live on YouTube, playing on the popular Minecraft server Hypixel, Minecraft Mondays, MC Championship, SMP Earth, Minecraft Story Mode, Party Games, and the Dream SMP.
