Hendricks came into the NCAA season expected to spend multiple years at Central Florida. Despite not being a top 50 recruit, he nevertheless intrigued NBA scouts as a developmental project and then shined throughout the season.

It didn't take long before Hendricks' production became too impressive for NBA scouts to ignore. Listed at 6-foot-9, Hendricks has the tools to be a dynamic weapon at the next level. He has a great combination of offensive upside and defensive versatility.

The talented freshman announced that he has entered his name in the 2023 NBA draft. Hendricks rose up draft boards throughout the year and is now one of the hottest names in NBA circles. But where does that momentum leave his projection for this year's draft?

UCF Knights forward Taylor Hendricks has skyrocketed up the ranks throughout the NBA draft cycle. He is now expected to hear his name called within the 2023 draft lottery on June 22.

There are some who believe that Hendricks will have the chance to make it into the top 10 of the draft. It's an impressive rise, especially for someone who wasn't projected to be a one-and-done as a freshman.

Hendricks was an efficient player for the Knights in his freshman year. He averaged 15.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 47.8%, including 39.4% from 3-point range. Hendricks has the tools that should intrigue plenty of NBA organizations in terms of his fit at the next level.

On defense, Hendricks might be a special talent. He has the mobility to switch onto smaller guards while also offering some sensational shot-blocking ability. His combination of anticipation and timing as a shot blocker shined throughout the 2022-23 season.

Offensively, Hendricks has shown that he can step out and stretch the floor from well beyond 3-point range. The rest of his offensive game is still developing, as he will need to work on his ballhandling. But Hendricks also has the presence inside the paint to do damage around the basket.
