The England cricket team are scheduled to tour Pakistan from September to December 2022 to play three Test matches and seven Twenty20 International matches. The Test matches will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship in 2021–2023.
History
In 83 England vs Pakistan Tests so far, the Englishmen have gone 25 and lost 21, which signifies a fair contest over the span of 66 years since 1954. However, the worrying stat for the visiting side here is that in England, the home side has won 23 Tests and lost just 12.
They have won close to two times of what they have lost. Given the fact that there are a lot less drawn Tests in today's day and age, all three Tests might produce a result and Pakistan will have to be at their best to survive in those conditions.
In T20Is, these two teams have played just 15 matches with England winning 10, Pakistan winning 4 and one match ending in a tie. In England, out of 6 encounters among the two teams, England have won 4 and lost 2.
Format
The visiting side will be playing two practice matches before they face the England cricket team. The first ENG vs PAK Test will begin on September 20th. The side will be fielding two different sides for each format and the English will announce their ODI squad which is unique to their Test side that played the West Indies. The T20 will be played at National Stadium, Karachi dating from Sep 20th to Oct 2nd and then the tests will begin on Dec 1st ending on 21st December.
