3 best and worst QBs Chargers will face in 2024 NFL schedule feat. Bo Nix

The Los Angeles Chargers, unfortunately, did not win the lottery when it comes to their opposing quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL season schedule. They will face three of the best in the AFC this year.

However, the opportunity presented allows Jim Harbaugh to squash any doubters if he can pull out wins over the best quarterbacks on his schedule. Here's a look at the best and worst quarterbacks in the Chargers' 2024 NFL schedule.

Best QBs the Los Angeles Chargers will face in 2024

#3 - Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson is fresh off a season in which he emerged short of just Patrick Mahomes in the AFC battle royale for the Super Bowl. Jackson finds ways to win games in an unconventional sense, dominating with his legs with a sprinkle of his arm at the worst possible moment. As such, the two-time MVP presents massive issues for the Chargers.

#2 - Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow stands as the only man who has felled Patrick Mahomes and it will take more than an injury-laden season to erase that accomplishment. Burrow threw for 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 2022, his last full season on the football field.

"Burrow head" may have fallen that season, but Burrow's name could be plastered across pretty much every stadium he has played in over the course of his young career.

#1 - Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes is the two-time reigning Super Bowl champion and is already getting comparisons to Tom Brady. Those who lived through the Brady years will recall that once Brady comparisons to Joe Montana began, they never stopped. As such, prepare for another decade of Mahomes at the top, continuing through 2024. Mahomes will remain at the top of every similar list to this.

#3 - Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson has raised massive questions as fans continue to digest the brief era he spent in Denver. At this point, what we know is that the quarterback was great with Pete Carroll, struggled with Nathaniel Hackett, and showed life with Sean Payton.

However, with his arrival in Pittsburgh met with high expectations from fans, the previous performances by Pickett and other quarterbacks since Ben Roethlisberger's retirement have raised questions about the ceiling of Wilson in yellow and black.

#2 - Bo Nix

The former Oregon Ducks quarterback is staying a short plane ride from his college, but Bo Nix has plenty to prove to fans. Currently, he remains the last quarterback taken in the first round of the NFL Draft, and a reach at that. With his rookie year starting up, Nix could be in line for a year full of growing pains, which is good news for the Chargers defense.

#1 - Bryce Young

Bryce Young and CJ Stroud were the biggest questions about the 2023 NFL Draft. Many argued both ways about who should have gone first overall. Following Young's 2-14 season, it is now clear that the conversation should never have taken place.

While Young still has this year to rewrite his story, expectations are a fraction of last year's. As such, veterans Herbert and Harbaugh have reason to circle this opponent with a smiley face.
