About Los Angeles Chargers Schedule 2024-25

Chargers unique annual tradition of releasing an animated version of the schedule continued in 2024. The Los Angeles Chargers schedule release has always been one of the most awaited events among the football community due to its creativity. Additionally, there is also a new energy and buzz among Bolts fans due to the arrival of Jim Harbaugh. He won the college football national championship with the Michigan Wolverines in 2023.

The Chargers have been long known as a team with a Super Bowl roster on paper but just couldn’t put everything together on the field. Last year was a disappointment for LA due to bottom tier defense and an injury to their superstar QB Herbert who missed most of the second half of the season. However, younger Harbaugh’s arrival has made Chargers an instant threat to reigning AFC West and SB champions Kansas City Chiefs.

Jim Harbaugh has been a proven winner at both collegiate and pro level. His run-first approach might be a huge boost to Justin Herbert, who has always remained at the top of the chart when it comes to passes attempted. Good running game is always the quarterback's best friend and that is the system which Jim has installed wherever he has coached. It remains to be seen whether Jim Harbaugh can get the Chargers to the playoffs in a tough AFC.

Los Angeles Chargers Key Games 2024-25

The Los Angeles Chargers schedule has revealed that they will be facing teams from AFC North and NFC South. The games against AFC North foes might be very important for Chargers as wins against them hold more weightage when it comes to playoffs qualifications. It’s no secret that if the Chargers want to win the division, they have to beat the Kansas City Chiefs at least once and have a great division record.

However, that alone doesn’t warrant the division title as there are 11 more games to be played outside the division. So, we will focus on games that Chargers have to target outside the AFC West.

Week 2 - September 15, 2024 - Los Angeles Chargers @ Carolina Panthers

This has to be one of those games for the Chargers which will come back to bite them at the end if they lose. Panthers are coming into the season with sophomore quarterback and rookie head coach along with below average roster. On paper, LA is a playoff team while Carolina is still in the rebuilding phase. However, it’s also true that anything can happen on any given Sunday. Jim Harbaugh and boys better not take this team lightly on the field.

Week 3 - September 22, 2024 - Los Angeles Chargers @ Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have a pair of new quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this year. Mike Tomlin led squad is always a tough out no matter the circumstances around. It will be fun to see who the starting quarterback of the team will be.

Chargers have to prepare for both Wilson and Fields as Mike Tomlin has benched starting quarterbacks last year if the on field performance is not up to the standard. It will be exciting to see how Jim Harbaugh prepares the Chargers offense against one of the best defenses in the league led by T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward.

Week 10 - November 10, 2024 - Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans

This game will most likely feature a sophomore quarterback of Titans with a new head coach. Titans have gone through somewhat of a retool and have a very good defensive line which might create a problem for Justin Herbert and company. As an inter-conference game, a win here would provide the Chargers with a cushion if they tie with other teams for a wildcard spot at the end of the season.

Week 11 - November 17, 2024 - Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

This will be one of the most anticipated matchups between two of the elite quarterbacks in the league in Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert. Last time the two of them met, Herbert came out on the top with an impressive victory. However, this time around Burrow and the boys would be ready to give a tough matchup. This game may lack many key pieces like Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Jessie Bates and Tyler Boyd on the field.

Along with players, there are also big changes on the coaching side since the last time they met. Joe Burrow’s longtime offensive coordinator Brian Callahan left for Nashville for a head coach gig. Herbert also has a whole new coaching staff from HC to OC.

Week 17 - December 29, 2024 - Los Angeles Chargers @ New England Patriots

This game will be one of the easiest games on the Los Angeles Chargers schedule. Patriots are in a rebuilding phase with no Bill Belichick roaming around the sidelines. Chargers in the Herbert era have a losing record against Patriots. Justin Herbert has pedestrian numbers when facing the Patriots defense three times in his career. He has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns against them.

Now that Belichick is no more with the Patriots, it will be interesting to see if Herbert can overcome his own demons or not. This matchup by all accounts should be an easy win for the Chargers, but games are played on the field and not on paper.

Where do the Los Angeles Chargers play their games?

The Los Angeles Chargers play all their home games in SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California.. This has been the home of the Chargers since 2020. They previously played in San Diego from 1960 till 2017 before relocating to LA.

What channels have Los Angeles Chargers games?

Most of the games on the Los Angeles Chargers football schedule will be covered by the CBS broadcasting network with other games spread out on various networks such as ESPN, FOX and NBC. Out of three primetime games, one of them against the Arizona Cardinals will air on ESPN+.
