The swinging deliveries of the rookie left-arm pacer confused the English batters which led to Arshdeep bowling a spell of 2 wickets for 18 runs in 3.3 overs. Surprisingly, after a scintillating debut, Arshdeep was dropped for the remainder of the T20I series. Next, he was named in the 2022 India-West Indies 5-match T20I series.

He also got the wicket of the dangerous Asif Ali to finish with numbers of 3 for 32 from his four overs as India restricted Pakistan to 159/8 and won by four wickets on the back of a masterclass knock from Virat Kohli.

Arshdeep was India's highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia - 10 wickets in 6 matches at an economy rate of 7.80. He picked his career best figures of 4/37 against New Zealand in the third T20I in Napier.

However, the left-arm pacer bounced back in the final T20I with 3/20 from just 2.4 overs as India beat Sri Lanka by 91 runs in the series-decider in Rajkot.
