10-time WWE champion is the best choice to end Damian Priest's World title reign and not Drew McIntyre

Damian Priest
Damian Priest is World Heavyweight Champion

Damian Priest is currently basking in glory as the World Heavyweight Champion on Monday Night RAW. However, there's a good possibility that his title reign could be nearing its end. The Punisher might lose the coveted gold next month at WWE's upcoming premium live event in Glasgow, Scotland.

As of now, it appears that Drew McIntyre will be the one to dethrone The Judgment Day member and capture the World Heavyweight Championship at this year's Clash at the Castle. However, when it comes to Priest, a ten-time WWE champion is arguably the best choice to end his title reign instead of McIntyre.

The name in question is Finn Balor. There are several reasons why Balor would be the right guy to take the championship away from Damian Priest.

Finn Balor desperately needs a World Title run

Finn Balor is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE's history. However, a dismal fact that has continued to shadow his glorious career is that Balor has failed to win a single world championship since relinquishing the Universal Title in 2016.

Therefore, The Prince desperately needs a world title run at this point to revitalize his career and rise to the top. Although Drew McIntyre equally deserves to win the World Heavyweight Championship, The Scottish Warrior could still do wonders and remain relevant regardless of the title.

However, things are not the same with Finn Balor, as his career has arguably gone downhill in recent times. More than anyone else, The Prince is in desperate need of a world championship to revive his lost glory. Therefore, it makes Balor the best choice to end Damian Priest's World Heavyweight Championship reign.

There is a personal angle between Finn Balor and Damian Priest

One of the predominant reasons why Damian Priest's title reign must come to an end at the hands of Finn Balor is because of their mutual connection. Balor and Priest are members of The Judgment Day, and hence there is a personal angle to it, which could do wonders.

It could give rise to an authentic story, which could stem from their differences within The Judgment Day. A cold war has seemingly started brewing between the two, the undertone of which has already been set. Therefore, it will make complete sense if the former Universal Champion goes on to dethrone The Punisher.

Finn Balor putting an end to his own stablemate's World Heavyweight Championship reign could have a far greater impact in terms of storytelling than Drew McIntyre dethroning Damian Priest. This is because Balor and Priest have a deeper story to tell than McIntyre and Priest.

It could unravel a rich storyline within The Judgment Day

The Judgment Day has been in shambles ever since Rhea Ripley went on hiatus due to her injury. Therefore, a rich storyline could unravel within the faction in The Eradicator's absence if Finn Balor turns on Damian Priest to chase the coveted gold.

This could pave the way for Priest's babyface turn, as Balor could kick him out of the faction to herald a feud with him for the World Heavyweight Championship. Moreover, the former Universal Champion could bring Liv Morgan to The Judgment Day to fill Rhea Ripley's spot.

As a result, things might get really interesting, as by the time Ripley returns, The Prince could be holding the World Heavyweight Title and Morgan could be holding the Women's World Title. Not only would it mark the split of The Judgment Day, but it could take this storyline to new heights.

Therefore, Finn Balor is the best choice to end Damian Priest's title reign rather than Drew McIntyre, as Balor going after Priest will open the doors for the rich storyline to unravel within The Judgment Day.
