1. Indian players are still having a World Cup hangover. No wonder the intensity was missing at the start of the match.
2. Players who didn’t win the world cup seemed more determined to do well in this match. Kallis , Balaji , Manoj Tiwari , Anirudh and Southee showed a lot of hunger.
3. When luck is not going your way , make hay while the sun shines. Yousuf Pathan’s clearly didn’t knew this today.

4. Srikanth Anirudh has definitely got his father’s flamboyance. But he needs to work hard to get into this talented world cup winning side.
5. The local lad Balaji looked fitter and leaner. Wonder what was going through his mind when he stepped out to play against his previous team. Was one of the best bowlers of the day.
6. Spin will be crucial in the IPL as it was in the world cup. With both sides playing three spinners, it was the spinners who looked a lot better than their faster counterparts.
7. Form is temporary but class is permanent.Evidently, Kallis was the star of the day with bat and ball. A tad disappointing that he had to be on the losing side.
8. KKR lost the match as much as CSK won it. When you need 9 runs of 8 balls with 5 wickets in hand , there can be only one clear winner.

9. We witnessed one of the closest matches at the start of the IPL . This is exactly the kind of start that the tournament needed as a boost to rejuvenate a country, which is still basking in the world cup glory.
