The other key proposals, which were deliberated upon and recommended to the AIFF, were: composition of the I-League, timeline to set up the I-League 2011-2012 season, the registration of I-League clubs and the I-League organization.

The I-league 2011-12 will remain a fourteen team affairs as the proposed expansion of teams is likely to be scraped for now. Moreover, the top two teams from the I-League Div –II will not be promoted if they fail to meet the AFC guidelines which mean no teams from Div-I will be related. The same teams will continue in the I-league 2011-12 season.

Meanwhile Viva Kerela, Mumbai FC and Chirag united have been given a timeline till July to improve the condition and standard of their respective home grounds following which another inspection of the clubs will be carried out between July to September before the I-League Season – V kicks off from September 2011.

It was also decided that, Clubs will now have to take the full responsibility of staging their respective home games which so long was organized by the local State Associations.

The committee also proposed to tweak that the I-League Regulations to ban the registration and participation of I-League clubs in other leagues other than the I-League and that an I-League club player should not be allowed to register with any other club other than I-League clubs.
