Indian footballers who can make it big. (Internationally)

While watching a lot of I-league videos i came across an article that was along the lines of “African Footballers who can make it big.” The blogger in me wanted to write another article on which Indian footballers can make it big, so heres who i think can make it big.

Sunil ChhetriDate of birth - 3 August 1984 (Age : 26)Height – 5 feet 7 inchesPosition- FW

No surprises here. A few years back, he made sure that India qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2011(and in style) scoring three goals against Tajikistan in the Challenge Cup 2008 Final 2008. Since then, he has matured greatly as a player playing for Kansas City Wizards in the Mls, and even captaining the Indian national side earlier this year.

Subrata PaulDate of Birth : 24 December 1986 (Age 24)Height : 6 feet 1 inchPosition : Goalkeeper

He was just edged by Mark Schwarzer’s heroics against Bahrain as the AFC Asian Cup’s best goalkeeper. Its a wonder that a player of his class has not been picked up by a big name club abroad(or any club abroad for that matter). At 25, he is still to reach his peak which for goalkeepers, is usually around 32-33 so he still has a bright future ahead of him . Take a look at the video below for some of his saves.

Jeje LalpekhluaDate of birth : 7 January 1991 ( Age : 20)Height : 5 feet 8.5 inches.Position : FW

4 goals in his first 3 international games. 14 goals in 15 I-League games. The man is on fire, and hes just 20 years old. Being pipped to be the next Baichung Bhutia because of his “identical” build, style of play, along with his ability to hold the ball. When he will play alongside Chhetri in the World Cup Qualifier, God help UAE.

Lalrindika RalteDate of Birth : 7 September 1992 ( Age : 18)Height : 5 feet 8 inchesPosition : WingerThis lad takes a neat free kick and has an ability to put in “searching” balls. Disguised free kicks are his forte. At 18, he is already a regular in the national U-23 team. He can also make the kind of runs which make a defence want to curl up in a corner and cry.
