Maxine quits WWE

Now former WWE diva Maxine confirmed on Friday that she is indeed finished with the company. Maxine (real name: Kaylee Perez) reportedly quit the company after “not being offered a guaranteed deal” as well as not being given much of an opportunity on WWE television outside of one of the company’s two Internet shows, NXT, according to PWInsider.com.

As I said before, Maxine confirmed her departure on Friday, using Twitter to let her fans know that she was indeed done. Maxine posted the following in response to the rumors:

“We have come to terms on my release. Its been a ride I want to thank WWE for the experience and understanding on my feelings”, Maxine wrote. “Its not easy saying goodbye. But there are other options at which (sic) I can do. To my fans, you may not see me on the WWE screen but on another(;.

I want to do nothing but get the real chance to entertain all of you…sometimes you have to make that chance for yourself!!

Shortly thereafter, fans immediately began speculating of Maxine would show up in TNA, WWE’s number one competitor. Maxine has no plans to wrestle at all at this point, and quickly shot that rumor down as well:

“I’m (sic) not going to another wrestling company that is not in my plans!!! I didnt (sic) ask for my release to go to another company.”

While this seems pretty straight forward, there could be more to the story than meets the eye, in regards to Maxine’s potentially bad attitude. Terry Anderson, who has been a costume designer for WWE since 1989, hinted at a company departure back on Tuesday via her Twitter account, making the following statement:

Yes yes yes …so happy a certain person will no longer be with WWE.

Anderson also stated that the person departing would be “no one you’d miss”, and later confirmed she was talking about Maxine when her departure was announced. It is unknown at this time what the issues are between Maxine and Anderson, as no one else has stepped forward with any similar comments as of yet.

Maxine’s departure likely won’t mean much in the long run. She signed a contract with WWE in 2009 and made her debut with the company in 201o for the third season of NXT. She lasted nine weeks and was the second person eliminated from the competition (eventually won by current Smackdown! diva Kaitlyn). In August last year, she returned to the show for season 6, as part of a love triangle with Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis. Outside of that, Maxine has made very few appearances on television and her few appearances have mostly been on the losing end of “squash” matches.
