AGM of Paralympic Committee of India adjourned

New Delhi: The Annual General Meeting of the Paralympic Committe of India has been adjourned, on account of a notice filed by the lawyer of a Bangalore firm. The House unanimously agreed that since the suit/case had been instituted and the members were unaware of the orders (if any) passed by the concerned court, they did not want to take any chances on the notice issued by the lawyer conveying the above referred matter and now since the matter is subjudice, the meeting should not be conducted and be kept in abeyance till the actual facts are ascertained.

In addition to this, after the meeting some of the unauthorized persons (8-10 bouncers) who were accompanied by Shri Giriraj Singh, secretary, Paralympic Committee of Haryana, Shri Mahipal Yadav, representing Haryana and Mr. Shivajee Kumar, representing Bihar Paralympic Committee, came forward and forcibly took the microphone and started shouting slogans against the office-bearers. They even used abusive language against the notice/court’s order. So much so that some of the office-bearers and executive members were manhandled by the miscreants.

The president was requested by the majority members to initiate disciplinary action against such members who created nuisance and used unparliamentary language towards the office-bearers and lawyer/Hon’ble court.

The president assured that this issue would be placed before the disciplinary committee of the PCI and action would definitely be taken as recommended by the disciplinary committee within 15 days.
