It’s official now! Usain Bolt can do ANYTHING! He is not just the fastest man on the earth but can even throw a javelin better than most beginners.
Other athletes get tired after giving their all at the Olympics and look for some much-needed rest but not Bolt. The legend, who turns 30 today, became the first man in Olympic history to notch up an unprecedented ‘Triple-Triple’ when he anchored the Jamaican 4x100m relay team to victory on Saturday. That was his third consecutive finish on the top podium at Rio after his earlier victories in the individual 100m and 200m races.
But Bolt was not done. When his press conference ended late night on Saturday, the indefatigable Bolt, in his usual nonchalant style, went into the dark Olympic stadium at 1.40am when only a few volunteers were around.
And guess what he did? He simply picked up a javelin and urged the onlookers to keep on clapping him just as a seasoned javelin thrower would do. He then made a dash and hurled the javelin as far as he could into the turf.
Bolt took another throw which measured a distance of 56m according to French journalist Franck Ballanger who witnessed the entire episode and even posted a video of his final throw on Twitter.
With the same swagger that he shows after conquering his sprint races, Bolt posed for some pictures for the surprised volunteers.
According to the Associated Press, that distance would have guaranteed him the sixth place at the 2016 Jamaican National Championships! Without a doubt, that adds more to his unbelievable greatness and versatility.

The champion who bid adieu to a glittering Olympic career that delivered nine gold medals at Beijing, London and Rio, is enjoying his time watching rest of the Games. He was there at the Maracana on Saturday night to watch Brazil beat Germany 5-4 on penalties that gave the host nation its first gold medal in men’s Olympic football.
Neymar, who scored the winning penalty, even celebrated in the Jamaican’s signature style in a tribute to the sprint icon.
