India’s Ajay Jayaram moved into the third round of the 2015 Canada Open with a straight games 21-15 21-16 win over Huang Yuxiang of China in 34 minutes in the second round on Wednesday.
Game 11 saw both players begin the match on an even keel as both players won 2 of their first 4 points, but it was Jayaram, who took the first big step in winning the game, clinching 7 points on the trot to go 11-4 up at the break. After that surge in points, it was steady progress for the Indian as kept piling on the pressure on his opponent to eventually seal the game 21-15.
The second game proved to be a real neck-and-neck affair as both players kept pegging one another back to reach a deadlock at the 9-9 mark. but it was Jayaram, who took control of the match after that, first winning 4 points on the trot to go 13-9 up and then maintaining that lead throughout,to seal the game and the match and move into the third round.
He will take on WIsnu Yuli Prasetyo of Indonesia in the third round.
