Lakshya Sen reaches a career-best of World No. 137

The latest update in the BWF World Rankings does not feature any major changes for the nation's top shuttlers, given the fact that they have not been in action over the past week after the World Championships in Glasgow. However, there has been movement for some of India's male shuttlers in the bottom half of the top 100, with 16-year-old prodigy Lakshya Sen also moving up to reach his career best ranking.

The top seven male shuttlers retain their original spots. On top remains World Championships quarterfinalist Kidambi Srikanth, who is placed at number 8. Ajay Jayaram is next in line at 16 and following him immediately are Sai Praneeth and HS Prannoy, who are 17th and 18th in the world respectively.

Next are the two Verma brothers - with Sameer placed at number 26 and Sourabh placed at 32, six spots below. Parupalli Kashyap rounds up the top 50, ranked number 46 in the world.

Abhishek Yelegar, Pratul Joshi and Siril Verma have all moved up the charts and are now ranked at 82, 88 and 95th spot respectively. Breaking into the top 100 is Aditya Joshi, who is placed at the 100th spot, after recording a 10-place jump.

Youngster Lakshya Sen may have lost his junior World No. 1 spot but he moves up the charts in the senior rankings to reach a career-high of 137. However, Anand Pawar has fallen out of the top 100 and now sits in 129th place.

In the women's singles, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, both medalists at the World Championships, retain their places at number 4 and 12 respectively. India's other two representatives at the Worlds, Rituparna Das and Tanvi Lad, sit at 45 and 80 respectively, with the latter jumping up one places.

Manu Atri and Sumeeth Reddy retain their status as India's top ranked pair in men's doubles at 33rd in the world, while young duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy sit in 38th place.

In the women's doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy stay at world number 24 and in the mixed section, the duo of Reddy and Pranaav Chopra falls one place to be ranked at World No. 20.
