In an episode that is scaling new heights on the ‘Bizzarometer’ everyday, Saina Nehwal‘s social networks are being repeatedly updated with the Indian Badminton superstar sporting a mask.
It all started on February 14th with Saina updating her Twitter and Facebook profiles with photos of her wearing a mask.
It was initially feared that Saina’s account was hacked but the 23-year old has since confirmed that her account has not been hacked. Saina has also mentioned that she is doing it for a reason without going into details about it. Every picture that the 2012 London Olympics bronze medalist has been posting contains a #Masked hashtag.
With no light being shed on the reason behind Saina wearing the mask, social media networks have been abuzz with all kinds of speculations. There are many people who think that because the episode started on February 14th, it has something to do with Saina breaking up with someone and hence all the ‘pain’ related messages.
Another theory suggests that it is a protest against a cause for women while some say it is a case of Saina coming out in the open.
However, it could also be a case of Saina endorsing some cosmetic product in which case, the PR manager of the brand which has put out this campaign must not be paid his salary!
