Japan thrash India by 60 points in FIBA ASIA under-18

India lost their third game in a row against Japan in the level one match of the ongoing 22nd FIBA ASIA U18 Championship for women at Jordan.

In the day three match of the championship Japan defeated India 107 – 47. Japan took all four quarters 35 – 13, 31 – 15, 20 – 7 and 21 – 12 respectively to hand India their third loss in as many as matches played. In other level one matches of the championship, China beat Chinese Taipei 76 – 47 and Korea beat Thailand 85 – 48.

In the level 2 of the day 3 of the championship, Malaysia beat Sri Lanka 58 – 50, Hong Kong beat Kyrgyzstan 85 – 66 and Kazakhstan beat hosts Jordan 59 – 45.

22nd FIBA ASIA U18 Championship for women is played in two levels. Elite level one consists of six teams – China, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Chinese Taipei while six other teams – Hong Kong, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia and Sri Lanka – will play in Qualifying Level II with the top two teams having a shot at qualifying for next edition’s Level I competition.

The 22nd FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women is the qualifying event for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship for Women to be played in Russia. The top three teams from the 22nd FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women will represent FIBA Asia at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.
