Hosts IEC Thapathali Campus lifted the title of the 1st Inter-technical Basketball Tournament after beating CIT College 46-32 in the final match of the tournament played here at Thapathali in Central Kathmandu, Nepal.
Nishant Sedhain of the hosts was the best player in the final as he scored 15 points and made 4 blocks, 2 steals and 14 rebounds to help his team to win the title. Nishant Sedhain was later adjudged the Most Valuable player of the the tournament. Bikash Gurung of the hosts was the highest scorer of the tournament with an average of 17.6 points per game.
The tournament was organized among the technical (engineering) colleges of Nepal to build cooperation and understanding among the technical and engineering colleges/students of the country. The first edition of the national level championship saw 12 engineering colleges participating for the honours. The tournament was held at Thapathali in the central part of Kathmandu.
The principal of the hosts IEC Thapathali Engineering College distributed the prizes to the winners and runners up of the tournament.
