Introducing the 2014 NBA Top 20

It’s nearly here.

The first photos from training camp are leaking out. Rosters are being sharpened up and completed. Players are back posing in their jerseys again at Media Day. And pre-season games have already begun.

The 2013-14 NBA season is just around the corner, and the family of basketball writers at SportsKeeda will be welcoming the upcoming season by returning to the second iteration of the SportsKeeda NBA Top 20, our ranking of the top 20 best players in the NBA for 2012/13; the players who will be most “valuable”, not just to their team but in determining the course of how the upcoming season unravels.

Seven writers voted for this list – Karan Madhok, Vinay Sundar, Souvik Roy Chowdhury, Sabarinath Sankaranarayanan, Sidhartha Patra, Rohith Nair and Vishal Menda – and we will reveal to you the top 20, including in depth features on the players on the players.

In the process, we hope to create some lively debates and discussions among followers on this website and basketball fans across the world. In our inaugural Top 20 list last year, LeBron James took the unanimous top spot, closely followed by Kevin Durant and Chris Paul rounding up the top three.

Can King James defend his number one spot? Who do you think deserves to be in the top 20? Who do you think is one of the five best players in the league? Who would you vote for as the league’s best player?

We’ll start revealing our answers from tomorrow, and in the process, reveal the voices and opinions of some of the NBA’s biggest fans-turned-writers. Enjoy!
