Japan lift title of 25th FIBA Asia Championship for Women

Undefeated Japanese National Women’s basketball team win the title of the 25th FIBA ASIA Championship for Women defeating Korea 65 – 43 in the final played at Bangkok, Thailand.

Japan took first two quarter 19 – 11 and 18 – 5 to lay its foundation for a win and went to halftime break with 21 points lead. After the break, Korea took the third quarter 18 – 11 but Japanese took the last quarter 17 – 9 to win the title of the 25th edition of the championship.

Ramu TOKASHIKI netted game-high 20 points for Japan to lift the title while Yeon Ha BEON netted 12 points for Korea.China, Korea and Japan will represent FIBA ASIA in the FIBA World Championship for Women to be played in Turkey from September 27 to October 5, 2014.

A total of 12 teams participated in the 25th edition of the FIBA ASIA Championship for Women which was held at Bangkok from October 27 to November 3, 2013.
