NBA 2K15- Create a Player included and Soundtracks chosen

Player customization is almost become a standard in a variety of games these days, but one game type that has always featured this for as long as I remember have been sports games. Although, 2K Sports surprised us last year when they launched NBA 2K14 with the game missing a popular feature, create a player. Fortunately for everyone, it looks like 2K Sports has realized their mistake and are bringing the mode back at least within one mode, in upcoming NBA 2K15, .

A few days back, we told you about the brand new MyLEAGUE mode that is only for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. Within the interview excerpts given by senior executives of the Visual Concepts staff, they were asked questions on what adjustments could be made to the draft class and if names and attributes could be edited there. They replied by saying the following:

“Yes, you have full editing over the draft class. In addition, we have added back in a robust create a player system. Details on this will come closer to launch.”

Now the question that comes up is whether create a player feature is only for MyLEAGUE which will again restrict the feature to only the next gen versions of the game or if it will be available throughout the different games modes in NBA 2K15, including just a basic create a player to be used in regular games. All we can do is wait and hope for the best. With a release set for October 7, the wait gets exhausting, but before that, there will surely be more updates on the create a player feature of the game.

Well besides the in-game features and modes, another thing getting us excited about NBA 2K15 are the soundtracks it shall use in the game. And to pick the correct type of songs, music superstar, Pharrell teamed up with the world's best-selling basketball video game franchise, NBA 2K15 as their music curator.

2K Sports had announced a few days back that the Grammy-winning performer has chosen 27 tracks for the soundtrack of the upcoming game. He's the second music performer to select songs for the popular video game, after Jay Z who was an executive producer in 2012. For last year’s version of the game that sold 7 million copies, LeBron James picked out songs.

Pharrell said in a statement to The Associated Press that he wanted to create an "eclectic mix" of songs. He has included songs like Major Lazer's "Aerosol Can." The soundtrack will also include songs from Lauryn Hill, One Republic, Snoop Dogg, Lorde, A Tribe Called Quest, Missy Elliott, Junior, Basement Jaxx, Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force, Clipse, Death from Above 1979, No Doubt, Public Enemy, Ratatat, Santigold, The Black Keys, The Rapture, The Strokes, Strafe, Depeche Mode and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Three of his own songs are also featured on the soundtrack including "Hunter," ''Can I Have It Like That" and "How Does It Feel?"

He went on to add, "It was fun to include songs that I have always loved, like Strafe's "Set it Off" or Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario. The eclectic mix makes for a really cool vibe."

This is not the the first time Pharrell has been associated with the NBA world. He performed at this year's NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans, bringing out Nelly, Sean "Diddy" Combs and Snoop Dogg. 2K Sports even says that that performance was one of the reasons 2K selected Pharrell as curator.

"Pharrell's creative energy and background with the NBA — his performance at the All-Star game for example — was part of our decision in partnering with him to shape a new entertainment experience in this year's title," said Alfrie Brody, vice president of marketing for the video game.
