ICC World Cup 2015: Tickets for India-Pakistan game sold out

MS Dhoni in action against Pakistan

John Harnden, the 2015 ICC World Cup CEO, confirmed that the tickets for the February 15 India-Pakistan group game have been sold out.

Harnden said: "The India-Pakistan game in Adelaide on February 15 is going to be massive. Tickets have been sold out and we expect big support for both teams. We have worked with the Indian community to make that (Adelaide game) home game for India and the same with Pakistan.

“Australia is a very big multi-cultural community and the India-Pakistan (encounter) is one game in the tournament where I would like to be present other than the final.”

When asked about the venues, he said: “We don't have to build new venues. New Zealand and Australia are fortunate to have great cricket grounds. The real challenge is how to spread the tournament across two countries, from MCG, which has capacity of 1,00,0000 people, to the great picturesque venues in New Zealand.”

Harnden, expressing his desire to make the tournament successful, said: It's not about only Australia and New Zealand teams. Fourteen teams are coming and we have to make all of them comfortable and help all of them to play well. We are trying to make every match a home match for all teams."

"This is one of the world's biggest events. It's about all the world's best teams coming together in one moment of time to win that trophy. For us it's about bringing the whole of the cities alive," he said.

The 50-overs World Cup is about to get rolling on February 14 with both the host nations in action: Australia take on England, while New Zealand will be up against Sri Lanka.
