BCCI in search of series title sponsor for 2014-15 season

BCCI on the look out for sponsors

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who are looking for a series title sponsor for all the international games and main domestic competitions taking place in India during the 2014-15 season, have invited bids with the base price being set at Rs 2 crores per international match.

The bids will be opened on August 28 in the presence of all the bidders. The invitation to tender documents will be available at the BCCI’s headquarters in Mumbai from August 6, and be open till 26th of the same month, for Rs 2 lakhs.

As of now, only one home series, against West Indies, has been scheduled for the upcoming season. With the series against Caribbeans consisting of three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 international, the BCCI's marketing committee decided to float the tender only for the nine international games hoping to earn at least Rs 18 crores from series sponsorship rights over the course of the home season.

The highest bidder will, in addition to getting the title sponsor rights for the international matches, also get the rights for the Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup, Duleep Trophy, Vijay Hazare trophy and Prof DB Deodhar Trophy.

Star India were the series title sponsors last season, when India played two home international series against Australia and West Indies, after bagging the rights till March 2014 at the base price of Rs 2 crores per fixture.
