Virat Kohli turns 27 today

It is the birthday of the poster boy of the Indian cricket, Virat Kohli. The test captain turns 27 today. Incidentally, it also happens to be the day when Kohli leads the Indian side in a test series for the first time on home soil.

The test skipper did not fare well on the opening day of the match 1 and got out after having faced just four deliveries at the score of one. Kagiso Rabada got his first wicket on his test debut, that of Virat Kohli’s, as the day ended dismally for the Indian side who got all out on a score of 201 at the PCA stadium, Mohali.

Yet the bad performances could not deter the fans inside the stadium to sing Happy birthday for their beloved captain.

The giant screen at the stadium continued to display birthday wishes from fans all over the country long after the departure of Kohli. Earlier, Team India posted their wishes on Twitter as wishes poured in from all the corners of world for the superstar on the social media.

Although the day did not turn out all so well for Kohli as he would have expected it to, wishes from fellow cricketers and supporters all over the country, should do plenty to lift his spirits and inspire him to do well and atone for his mistakes as the series progresses. Happy Birthday, Virat!
