ICC Test rankings: Cheteshwar Pujara drops to 7th place

In the latest ICC Test rankings issued on Thursday, Cheteshwar Pujara dropped one position to 7th while Virat Kohli, the only other Indian in the top-20 of the batting list, remained unchanged at 20 even after scoring a century against South Africa in the opening day of first Test.

Pragyan Ojha moved up a spot to eighth, while R Ashwin remained steady at fifth in the bowling charts. Ashwin meanwhile continued to hold the top spot in the all-rounders list.

South Africa’s duo of AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla continue to head the rankings for Test batsmen, while the South African duo of Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander head the bowling charts.

Autralian opener David Warner moved up to 11th spot gaining 3 places after his stellar performance in the ongoing Ashes series helped Australia take an unassailable 3-0 lead. The opener score 60 and 112 in the last test to be the leading run-getter in the series.

Australian Shane Watson and Steven Smith both of whom had scored centuries in the Perth Test moved up the rankings; while Ben Stokes of England also moved up the rankings following his valiant century in a losing cause.

Watson jumped six places to 32nd, Smith moving up eight places to 37th, while Stokes has rocketed 81 places to 73rd.
