India Under-19 squad for ICC U-19 World Cup 2016 announced

Indian Under-19 squad to play in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016 was announced by the selection committee in Mumbai today.

Ishan Kishan was named the captain of the team.Rishabh Pant was named vice-captain of the side which has the likes of Sarfaraz Khan, Ricky Bhui, Armaan Jaffer and Avesh Khan as the frontline players.

On December 21, the India Under 19 team outplayed the Sri Lankan Under 19 team by five wickets in the tri-series final. Chasing 159 for victory at the R. Premadasa Stadium, the Indian juniors rode on a solid 89 run opening partnership between Sundar (56) and Rishabh Pant (35) to achieve the target in 33.5 overs.

The 2016 ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup is to be held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016.

Former India batsman Rahul Dravid is the head coach of the team.
