A young Indian batsman has scored a total of 459 runs in two one-day innings in the Vinoo Mankad U-19 one-day meet. Aditya Garhwal, a name you might hear a lot in years to come, achieved this incredible feat in back-to-back matches while playing at the zonal level.

In the first match against Railways, the Rajasthan prodigy blasted 263 in just 151 balls, which is remarkable considering it was a 50-over match.

He repeated his heroics in the next match against Madhya Pradesh, scoring a splendid 196. Thanks to Garhwal’s knock, Rajasthan finished with 326 for 5 in their allotted 50 overs. In reply, MP could manage only 184.

During his innings of 196, the youngster hit 19 fours and 7 sixes, which is quite a feat considering the boundaries at the University ground in Noida are bigger than most international stadiums in the country.

Garhwal’s knock even caught the eye of Indian cricket legend Virender Sehwag, who was mightly impressed with the efforts of the teenager.

Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo after the knock, Garhwal said: "Last year, some of my friends had started teasing me that I was only a days' cricket batsman and not a one-day batsman, so I was determined to prove them wrong."

He has already played 1 List A match for Rajasthan, where he scored 31, and 7 T20s for the state with a top score of 36 in the shortest format of the game.

It’ll come as no surprise to anyone if Garhwal is selected for the Indian U19 team in the near future.
