Gujarat Lions, one the new franchises this season, have got off to a roaring start in this IPL with a hat trick of wins in an equal number of games. They came into existence as two heavyweight franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are suspended for two years due to their alleged involvement in betting. The owner of the Gujarat Lions is the young and dynamic Keshav Bansal and he holds the position of the Director of Intex Technologies.

Keshav Bansal is only 24 years old and with him acquiring the Gujarat franchise, he has created a history of sorts by becoming the youngest ever IPL team owner.Keshav Bansal grew up in a joint family in Delhi and he studied in the Heritage school located in Vasant Kunj. He has studied management at IILM Institute of Higher Education in Delhi. He is also an alma mater of the Manchester school of Business in U.K.

He started off by working in the logistics department at Intex and subsequently started heading the marketing department there. He worked on a lot of ad films for Intex in the past 3 years right from developing the idea to marketing and execution. He claims to have worked on more than 20 ad films.

The history of Intex itself is a rather interesting one. Keshav's father Narendra Bansal started out as an audio/video cassette trader in 1980s. Slowly and steadily Narendra Bansal moved on to capture the fast growing market of IT accessories, audio speakers, music systems, home theatres etc.

Gradually Intex moved on to the manufacturing of mobile handsets in 2007 and since then has taken giant strides in the Telecom industry. The present brand ambassador of Intex is the popular Bollywood actor/director Farhan Akhtar.

Apart from being the director of Intex, Keshav is also an active philanthropist. Keshav was always into sports since childhood and was a State level squash player. He also loves to go for swims and is into yoga which helps him keep fit. Keshav is also a football fanatic and a table tennis enthusiast.

He is an avid traveller and an adrenaline junkie too. From sky-diving in South Africa t scuba diving in Spain, he loves them all. His love for Indian cuisine takes him to Maurya Sheraton’s popular restaurant Bukhara at least twice a month. He loves the sumptuous Dal Makhani with butter naan there.

Acting was also one of his hobbies since childhood but he has no real plans to get into the movie world. His favourite actor is Aamir Khan.

Keshav is known for his fashion sense and one could see him sporting a neat stubble and wearing diamond studs. He has a love for accessories and loves collecting belts, shoes, sunglasses and watches. His favourite colours are orange and blue which are now the jersey colours for the Gujarat Lions.

Bansal was previously in discussions with the BCCI over on-ground sponsorships and since then has gone on to become the youngest team owner of the Indian Premier League. It is said that when Keshav became privy to the news that BCCI wanted to induct two new teams for the IPL, it took him just 20 minutes get the nod for a go-ahead from his father Narendra Bansal.

Keshav Bansal was expectedly thrilled and elated to own an IPL team from Rajkot. The reason behind his excitement is the fact that Keshav's mother hails from Rajkot.

Keshav is seen these days cheering vociferously for his side in each and every game. One thing is for certain, this IPL will provide him the perfect platform from where he can take his brand to the ultimate heights with some aggressive marketing.
