Jadeja isn’t shy of enjoying his success

Ravindra Jadeja is not just a cricketer who plays for Gujarat Lions and India. He is something of a cult hero for his many followers. After all, it takes a special kind of player to get out of a lion safari for a selfie with a pride of Asiatic lions.

Sometimes he just amazes you with the things that he does. So here are things that he did that will make you wonder and think if he is the ruler of the universe. #JustJadejaThings

So here are #JustJadejaThings: 10 times Sir Ravindra Jadeja proved that he rules the Universe:

#1 It’s your life, make it Jadeja

Success doesn’t occur every day but when it does, you have to enjoy it. As an athlete, sometimes, enjoying or even reveling in your own success can make you look like you let that get to your head. Unlike some, he is not afraid to flaunt his success.

Like this occasion, after the game against WI.

Or this one, after enjoying a spectacular start to the 2015/16 Ranji Trophy campaign with Saurashtra:

#2 Why so serious?

Jumping with joy

Life can be cruel and unfair at times. If you keep worrying about all the things that happen in life, then you won’t have enough time to actually live your life. Sometimes you just have to admit that what happens happens and take it all in your stride.

And that is something Jadeja is very good at, as evident from some of his Tweets, which show how his lighter side.

#3 Don‘t hold on to your horses

Jadeja's love for horses is not something that is unknown to many. But what many don't realise is that Jadeja not only loves horses but also rides them and names them and welcomes them as a member of the family.

Every time there is a new addition to the collection of horses in his stable, it is an occasion that he cherishes as much as the time he spends with them.

His love for horses are clearly evident from this post:

#4 Caught, but Not Out

Jadeja’s 20-ball 38 helped CSK beat RCB

Chasing 166 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings would have fancied their chances of winning the game. But at 78/4 in the 13th over that chance looked slim and when both MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo got out, it got even more difficult.

But little did CSK realise that they had Sir Ravindra Jadeja in their ranks. Needing 16 to win off the last over, Jadeja not only scored 10 off the first two balls but also won them the game despite being caught at third man off the last ball of the game when 2 runs were needed.

CSK won as RP Singh over-stepped by a huge margin as Jadeja edged a cut straight to third man and they took a single and won the game. Who else could have forced a no ball and even got caught but still win but Sir.

#5 Sir is mightier than the sword

Ravindra Jadeja
Impressive, isn’t it?

Not every cricketer is good with a cricket bat, let alone a sword. But Ravindra Jadeja is one of those rare category of cricketer who is good with not just one but both. He displayed both in the game against England where he flaunted his sword-fighting skills with the bat.

But while he hasn’t always shown his skills with the sword to the public, there can be no doubt that he isn’t good with it.

#6 Jadeja’s got life all figured out

Ravindra Jadeja
Is he pondering about metaphysical manifestations?

On the field, Ravindra Jadeja’s approach to the game is to keep it simple. It looks as though his take on life isn’t all that different. After all, not everyone likes to talk about life on Twitter, but then again, the all-rounder isn’t everyone else.

Here's his take on friendship:

He has something to say about love as well:

And life too:

#7 Going all guns blazing

When he is not busy scoring runs, taking wickets or just having fun, he spends his time hunting. And here is a photo he himself posted a few years back. However, guns weren't always his best friend.

At his wedding, there was an issue with a gun as there were shots being fired. Thankfully, though, everything ended peacefully and nothing happened.

#8 Honesty is the best policy

Ravindra Jadeja

Sometimes you just have to admire the honesty of Ravindra Jadeja. It is not often that you see sportstars, let alone successful ones post what they want and share what’s on their mind.

Whether he meant it in jest or wanted to share some honest insight, not many would have expected him to post this on his Twitter account. But he did, a couple of years ago, before his marriage:

#9 Jadeja lights up Lord’s

Jadeja’s signature celebration at Lord’s

Unlike in football, celebrations in cricket after reaching milestones are nowhere near as unique or eye-catching but Ravindra Jadeja wanted to change all of that. And he did that after reaching his half-century against England on the fourth day of the Lord’s Test.

He later described the celebration as “Talwaar baazi” and created a moment no Indian fan is likely to forget anytime soon. He explained it by saying: “It has got to do with a tradition that we have among the Rajpoots. During festivals and special occasions, we have professional sword-fighters perform with a sword in each hand, moving them in that fashion. It’s called ‘talwaar baazi’. I only had one bat with me so I did it with one hand.

He added: “I wanted to have a different celebration and so I had decided whenever I get a fifty, I will do that. MS bhai must have seen it and realized what I was doing. So, he was mimicking me.”

#10 #WeAreLions

This picture might end up landing him in trouble

The latest entry into the Ravindra Jadeja’s book of life was a couple of photos that he took at the Gir National Park and Sanctuary (GNPS) where he went on a lion safari with his wife Reeva Solanki. However, what was supposed to be an innocuous photo might end up putting him in trouble.

An inquiry has been ordered after the cricketer posted pictures on social media of him and his wife in front of a pride of Asiatic Lions, after getting out of the safari vehicle, which is against the law.
