ICC ban Zimbabwe's Malcolm Waller from bowling in international cricket

Malcolm Waller has been suspended from bowling by the ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Wednesday that the results of an independent analysis conducted on Zimbabwe off-spinner Malcolm Waller’s action found all of his deliveries to be exceeding the 15-degree limit, and he has been banned from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.

The 30-year-old was called during the second Test against Bangladesh in Khulna in November.

The analysis was conducted by the International Cricket Council's accredited team of Human Movement Specialists at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria on December 7.

Waller, however, is eligible to apply for a re-assessment after modifying his action in accordance with clause 2.4 of the Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions.

Earlier in the year, Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal was banned from bowling in international cricket after all of his deliveries were found to be going over the permitted limit. Similarly, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Sri Lankan off-spinner Sachitra Senanayake had also been banned but were subsequently cleared to bowl by the ICC after undergoing the requisite tests.
