The media company owned by Sony – Multi-Screen Media (MSM) – have successfully received an injunction from the Delhi High Court, to prevent cricket websites and an online radio channel from posting LIVE updates during the current New Zealand vs India series.

The injunction is reportedly an interim one, with the Delhi High Court expected to give a final verdict at a later day.

The three parties that have suffered from this injunction are cricket websites ESPN Cricinfo, CricBuzz and online radio RadioOne. MSM were irked by the fact that the three didn’t obtain any authorisation from them.

As websites are not allowed to post updates LIVE, they are instead posting updates after 15-20 minutes.

Sony Six had bagged rights for the series, just 10 days before the 1st ODI. The series series comprises of 5 ODIs and 2 Tests and ends on February 18th. Cricket fans, who follow the game online, would be hoping the issue is dealt with sooner rather than later.
